Greetings!
Happy New Year! I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season and found time to give back to others. We are so proud of our girls who help others not only during the holidays, but throughout the entire year. Through the USO/Care to Share program, Troop 3481 greeted soldiers with goodies at Lambert St. Louis Airport. For years, Troop 485 from Kirkwood has been delivering Girl Scout Cookies to Operation Homefront Missouri and soldiers stationed overseas. They have even gotten other troops involved, and last year, 148 troops participated and shipped 7,368 cookies. I am confident that all of our troops can take part in such great initiatives, so let's try to make 2013 our biggest year for community service yet. We are very excited to announce our mid-year recruitment for girls still interested in joining Girl Scouts. It's the perfect time to recruit girls to join already formed troops and get them involved in all of the various programs we have coming up. You can find all of the details for our girl and adult programs in the spring 2013 issue of Lead & Learn. You should be receiving the publication in your mailbox shortly. Our summer camp guide, S'more Summer Fun, will also be available soon. We are offering several new camps this year, and we know your girls will love them. It's going to be an exciting year, so be sure to check out both publications to discover all of the wonderful opportunities that await you and your girls this spring and summer. Best Wishes,
Donna K. Martin CEO, Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri |
