2012 Fall Product Program Includes Two Internet Sale Opportunities
This year girls can participate in two great Internet sales opportunities as part of the Fall Product Program.
E-Nuts+ offers online purchasing of nuts and candy for customers who want more selections from the Trophy Nut product line, want to pay by credit card, who live far away and want their orders delivered directly to their homes or would like orders shipped to gift recipients.
E-Connect offers online purchasing of new and renewed subscriptions to a wide array of popular magazines from American Publishers. Magazine gift cards are also available. Orders are shipped directly to customers.
Flyers for both programs are included with troop training kits, and instructions are included in the Troop Plan Book. Online orders begin on November 3 and end on December 3, 2012. Both Internet sales are a convenient way for girls to use technology to reach new customers and increase sales.
In addition to the two Internet sale opportunities, girls will still take product orders from customers and hold troop booths. |

Girl Scout Cookies - CORRECTION
Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri is offering a new Girl Scout Cookie in 2013 - Mango Cremes. In the mid-August e-blast, we noted that these cookies include NutriFusion, which enhances the cookies with nutrients derived from nuts. That is incorrect and NutriFusion actually enhances the cookies with nutrients derived from fruits. We apologize for the error. |

Centennial Patch Program
Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri invites Girl Scouts of all ages to earn a special centennial patch to celebrate the 100th Anniversary of Girl Scouting. To earn the patch, girls must complete a total of five activities. Girls should choose one activity from each of the Discover, Connect and Take Action categories and then complete two more activities from any category. Activities can be completed individually or in a troop, in any order. This patch will be available to purchase in the GS Shop through March 12, 2013. Each district has 100th Anniversary district trunks containing resources to help girls earn the centennial patch. Although the trunk's resources are not required to complete the patch program, many troops/groups have found it enhances their experience. For example, one activity found in Connect: Activity 1 Get to Know Your Council's Family Tree suggests looking at a map of Missouri to find GSEM boundaries or to assemble the GSEM map floor puzzle (10'x10') included in the trunk. At a recent adult enrichment event, a group of women took it a step further by blindfolding half the participants. Working as groups and in pairs of two, the "sighted" helped their "blind" partner put the puzzle together. It helped them develop teambuilding skills and taught them the importance of detail and better communication. Contact your District Trunk Manager and check out your district's trunk today. If your troop/group would like to share their experience with the 100th Anniversary district trunk, please contact Jessica Upchurch. Grades 2-3
"Family of God" Catholic Faith-Building Program
Family of God, first offered in 1981, is the official religious recognition program of the Roman Catholic Church. It is an activity series developed to complement the catechetical efforts of the parish and families.
Girls in grades 2-3 who are enrolled in the Girl Scouts of the USA can earn this religious award.
In the Family of God program, parents and guardians play a large role in assisting girls in completing activities and that can take up to three or four months if done within an organizational setting. The program includes a guide for adults. Medals are presented each year at your local parish service.
The program helps girls discover the presence of God in their daily lives as members of their family and parish and understand that they are special in their family's eyes and most importantly in God's eyes.
The chapters include:
- I am Special to my Family
- I am Special to God's Family
