Bugs & Beds

As the grass gets green and trees bloom, there is work to be done in the big house for spring. Students will learn how the Maney family treated furnishings inside to protect them from bugs. The family would also have tricks and traditions that would make it a little more comfortable to sleep during the humid southern nights. After a lesson in the mansion on setting the house for spring, students will practice by getting the Lytle Educational Building ready for spring and making a "shew fly". A nature walk down to the spring will show the effort it took to get water for many of the spring cleaning projects. Field Trip Request Form
