Living With Nature!
Certainly we know about avoiding toxins in our food and water. We also take in toxins through the air that we breathe and through our skin. In this newsletter, learn how to make your own formulas for natural versions of everyday products we use on our bodies and around our homes.
There is information in everything we ingest including emotional energy we absorb. Similar to the programs of a computer, this information controls our internal operating system. If we live close to nature, we take in useful, healthful information--the kind our physiology needs to operate.

For instance, the information in a carrot tells our body to turn on or off certain proteins that subsequently signal which hormones to initiate and how. When we ingest junk or toxins we supply unhealthy operating instructions that can result in cancers and other health problems.
A core principle of Ayurveda is to live as close to nature, and your own nature, as you can. Other Radiant Life Ayurveda newsletters [archive] describe how to do this with food, herbs, and oils. Now let's examine other everyday products that will increase our use of non-toxic natural substances.
Consider some ideas in this month's eNews. Besides being healthier, homemade products are often less expensive to make. Here's to a healthy summer!
Live with radiant intention and be well. Rhonda |

Natural Sun Block
We certainly want to receive sufficient vitamin D through the sun every day. Over 90% of our vitamin D comes from the sun rather than food and most of us do not get enough. We have gone overboard with our affinity for sunblock which may actually inhibit us from getting sufficient vitamin D which is a big problem [see -- this newsletter in the archive]. However, if you spend full days in the sun or vacation at the beach, consider a natural sun block on occasion as needed.
Mix 1/2 Cup of Coconut oil 1/4 Cup of Almond oil About 10 drops of an essential oil of your choice {consider the oils listed above if you also wish to repel mosquitoes] Melt oils in a double boiler
Remove from heat and add 2 Tbsp Non-Nano Zinc Oxide Powder. Stir and use on skin as needed. You can store this mixture at room temperature in a dark place.

The Wise Woman author unknown A wise woman who was travelling in the mountains found a precious stone in a stream. The next day she met another traveler who was hungry, and the wise woman opened her bag to share her food. The hungry traveler saw the precious stone and asked the woman to give it to him. She did so without hesitation. The traveler left, rejoicing at his good fortune. He knew the stone was worth enough to give him security for a lifetime. But a few days later he came back to return the stone to the wise woman. "I've been thinking," he said, "I know how valuable the stone is, but I give it back in the hope that you can give me something even more precious. Give me what you have within you that enabled you to give me the stone."
