Courage...Compassion...Connection

With those whom we feel close ... I think there are two sentiments to share. "I am sorry"...and "You are welcome." We will do things on a daily basis that will rub up against an other's raw spots and yet we will also do things daily that hold them warmly and softly in our love. There is a circle beyond where others see our more projected self. But in the trenches of our inner circles of love, we are close enough to say I am sorry and you are welcome..every day. Connection...this is why we are here on earth. Connection with other gives meaning and purpose to our lives. According to researcher-story teller, Dr. Brene Brown, in her famous Ted Talk on "Vulnerability", truly connecting with others takes courage and compassion. It's not for wimps! Dr. Brown studied those who have a real sense of worthiness, love, and belonging and found they possess one fundamental difference from those who do not feel worthy. Simply, those who have a strong sense of love and belonging "believe they are worthy" of love and belonging. So there you have it, the one thing that leads us to enjoy connection is a belief that we are worthy. Underneath it all, according to Dr. Brown, is the courage to be vulnerable....the vulnerability to be seen and known authentically by another. Firstly, connection requires compassionate kindness for ourselves and our own imperfections; and secondly, connection requires compassion for those with whom we connect and their imperfections. It takes courage and compassion to be authentic, and that is the path to connection. We need to let go of who we think we should be so that we can be who we are. Simple and yet...the work of our lives. Live with radiant intention and be well. Rhonda

- Do Things at the Same Time Every Day. Your body knows your rhythm. It prepares. Sleeping, eating, playing and even cuddling at the same times each day is healthy.

Courage
In Latin "cour" means heart. The original English definition of "courage" was to tell the story of who you are with your whole heart.
|
you cannot selectively numb emotions. You cannot say, 'Here is the bad stuff. Here's vulnerability, here's grief, here's shame, here's fear, here's disappointment. I don't want to feel these -I am going to have a couple of beers and a banana nut muffin."
"You cannot numb hard feelings without numbing others. When we numb those we numb joy, gratitude, and happiness. "
