CVS Health, the health care organization formerly known as just a pharmacy, is adapting to the new environment and consumer demand, and physician owned practices are adapting as well. Models such as the Ambulatory Practice of the Future, Direct Patient Care, online service, and Patient Centered Medical Home are sharing space with traditional practice structures in today's environment.  Studies link physician satisfaction to quality of patient care, indicating that the physician preferred model of the future is one that is good for patients and their providers. 
  
Hospital assimilation, record retirement rates, and physicians seeking to sell practices are other symptoms which have not gone unnoticed.
  
El Paso County Medical Society, in looking at the changing nature of medical practice and the market forces at work in our community, has developed a strategy to provide member's services to increase physician job satisfaction and the health of their patients and practices.
