Happy 50th Anniversary Valley Forge Middle School!
Anniversary Event will be held on May 13th from 6-8 pm (check-in starts at 5:30) right here at VFMS!
We can't wait to welcome our Alumni, family, and friends on May 13th!
- We are looking forward to a spectacular event including entertainment for your family featuring a DJ, in flatables, and games led by some of your favorite past and present teachers.
- Don't miss the "Alumni Homecoming" parade and photo op showcasing our Alumni and some special guests, kicking off at 7:00 pm on the middle school track.
- Bring a picnic dinner or purchase food from one of the food trucks that will be on site offering family friendly fare.
Pre-registered Alumni will also have exclusive access to Alumni Headquarters featuring complimentary refreshments, memorabilia displays and more, including tours of VFMS throughout the evening by some of our current students. Grab your classmates and start planning your Class Reunion!
There is no cost to attend the event, though we gratefully accept donations of any amount to help defray costs and to further our educational goals. In addition, we will use a portion of sponsorships/donations to create a permanent Memorabilia display commemorating the 50th Anniversary of our beloved school.

VFMS Teachers and Staff Gift $5,000 to iPad Fundraising Campaign!
 Each school year, it has been a long standing tradition that the PTO give each teacher and staff a small financial gift as a thank you for their efforts serving our children. In honor of the school's 50th anniversary, the VFMS teachers and staff have asked that this year's gift, totaling $5,000, instead be given to the iPad Fundraising Campaign. We can't thank them enough for such a generous gift! We have now raised $18,600 which leaves $11,400 to reach our goal! 8th Grade Parent Updates
Please mark your calendars for the evening of Monday, May 9th from 6:30 - 7:30 pm. This date will be for signing of District permission forms for the overnight trip as well as a presentation of the itinerary and list of items to pack. As a general reminder, the dates of the Sandy Hill trip are Thursday and Friday, June 9th-10th.

Drop Off/Pick Up Information
The doors by the back parent pickup/dropoff area, near room 118, will be unlocked to student pickup and dropoff between 7:00am and 8:00am and between 2:30pm and 3:15pm. The main office doors should be used at all other times of the day. Thank you.

 Chaperones Wanted
Chaperone's Wanted! Spring Dance - Friday, April 29th
Please email VP_Socials@vfmspto.org if you would like to chaperone the final 7th/8th grade dance of the school year at VFMS. As always, we appreciate your help and Mr. Gibson will make every effort to ensure that you do NOT have to interact with your child during the dance! We are still in need of 2 - 3 additional chaperones for Friday's 7th/8th grade dance. Please volunteer if you can! |

8th Grade Slide Show Photos
It's time to start uploading / sending your child's VFMS photo memories for inclusion in the 8th grade slide show that will be shown during the graduation ceremony on June 16th. This year, we will be using a Shutterfly site AND we have set up an email account at vfms2016grad@gmail.com.
Photos may be uploaded of your children and friends for ALL years while they were at VFMS (grades 5 through 8) and may include the following:
- Photos from school sponsored events such as dances, trips, rock climbing, bowling or clubs
- Group photos of the kids "getting ready" for school events (such as a dance)
- Photos from VFMS sports games, classroom activities, Halloween dress up days, the school drama and musical - any candid photos of a group of VFMS students!
Photos should not include those taken at birthday parties or events not affiliated with VFMS.
Select your favorite photos only (please don't include multiple shots of the same photo) -- we will try to include as many classmates in total as possible so upload your best / favorite pics.

Senior Citizen's Prom Information
The 8th grade Leadership Seminar will be holding their annual "Senior Citizen's Prom" for folks 55 and older on Saturday, May 7th here at VFMS. Please invite friends and family you think would enjoy a FREE evening of good food, dancing and other entertainment hosted by some fine young men and women. Details are as follows:

Panera Fundrasier
THANK YOU to all who came out to Panera on Wednesday night!
We raised $275, a new record!!
We were also able to let some more folks know about the Prom, coming up May 7th.
Please invitegrandparents, neighbors, and family friends (55 years and up) who might want to enjoy this FREE-to-them evening of dinner, dancing and fun!!

7th Grade Leadership Collection
The 7th grade leadership seminar is collecting pop tabs for the Ronald McDonald House in Philadelphia. The money raised when the tabs are turned in for recycling helps to pay expenses for the families who stay at the house  while their seriously ill children are being treated at CHOP. Please save all of your pop tabs from soda, soup, etc. and put them in the collection bin in your homeroom. From April 4 - 29, we are holding a competition to see which homeroom can collect the most pop tabs. On April 29, we will determine the homeroom in each grade that has collected the most pop tabs. Those four homerooms will each receive BAGELS from Einstein's Bagels on Monday, May 2 or 9.

The 8th grade Leadership Seminar is continuing to place orders for GIFT CARDS in order to help raise the funds we need to put on the Senior Citizen's Prom in May. We have a variety of cards available to restaurants and stores. These could make great VALENTINE gifts!! You might want to have some on hand for last minute BIRTHDAY or other occasions as well.
