Attention 8th Grade Parents

Principal Meet & Greet!

Eighth grade graduation will be here before you know it. Over the next few months, both parents and students will have the opportunity to learn about what to expect at Conestoga and the transition to high school. More information and a time line of events will be shared in the coming weeks.

The first of these events for parents is the very important 8th Grade Principal Meet & Greet.  Principal Matt Gibson, along with the 8th grade counselors and faculty, will discuss how the school is preparing your child for the transition to Conestoga. In addition, several of the Conestoga High School counselors will be there to answer any of your questions about the course selection process and what you can expect once your child is a student at Conestoga.

The Meet & Greet has been scheduled for Thursday, February 12th, at 8:00 a.m.  Thank you to the Tomasicchio family for graciously hosting this event which will be held at 342 Old State Road, Berwyn.

Please  RSVP here for the Meet & Greet. In addition, we need volunteers to bring some continental breakfast items. If you can help, please click here  and you will be directed to the volunteer tab, and let us know what you will bring.

Thank you and we look forward to seeing you on February 12th!

8th Grade Leadership Seminar Panera Fundraiser

On Thursday, February 12th  the VFMS 8th grade leadership seminar students will be holding a fundraiser at the Panera Restaurant in Gateway Shopping Center from 4 pm to 8 pm.  We will receive a percentage of their sales during those hours.

All you have to do to help in this effort is to come to Panera and buy dinner to eat in or take out, or get some of their tasty baked goods and then give us the receipt.  Last December we were able to raise approximately $200 towards expenses for the Senior Citizens Prom we will host at VFMS on May 9th

We hope you can help us once again (or for a first time) in this worthwhile cause.  Get some Valentine treats or have an easy dinner with family or friends.  Celebrate the end of a great winter sports season!  Thanks for your help!!

Save the Date and Start Growing Your Hair for Locks of Love!

I am Katie Ridder, a 7th grade student at Valley Forge Middle School, and I am organizing a Locks of Love hair drive within our school districtLocks of Love is a nonprofit organization that makes custom wigs, from real hair, for financially disadvantaged children who have long-term medical hair loss.  I am running this hair drive for my Girl Scout Silver Award because, like Locks of Love, I believe that no child should have to feel self-conscious about losing their hair. While the drive won't take place until March 2016 (more details to follow), I'm letting people know to start growing their hair out now so they can plan to participate, as the minimum hair donation is 10 inches.  If you have any immediate questions or would like to participate in the drive please contact me at LOLhairdrive@Gmail.com.  Thanks for your support and consideration!
