WE NEED YOU!
VFMS PTO has several vacancies which need filling. We are in particular need of some board members, notably an
Executive VP to shadow the current President with a view to taking over the following school year, a shadow to our current VP Communications and Volunteers and replacements for our VP Issues and Affairs and VP Cultural Arts. In addition to these, we are really keen to recruit who would share the responsibility for producing the VFMS PTO weekly blast. We also have a few other openings, both big and small. If you are interested or wish to find out more information, kindly contact Sarah Culbert or Kathy Wynn. You can access the full list of vacancies by clicking here. |

Shop Amazon / Support the PTO!
If you love to shop on Amazon, we have a fantastic way for you to help VFMS at the same time. On the VFMS PTO homepage, you will see an Amazon.com graphic. When you want to shop on Amazon, we are asking that you simply use
this link which will send you directly to the regular Amazon.com home-page. However, it will mark that your order is associated with our school and Amazon will donate a certain percent o f your sale to VFMS! It is that simple and takes just one extra step! You do not need to sign up or register with the program and if you are already an Amazon Prime member, you will still receive all of your Prime benefits. VFMS has already earned roughly $650 with just a few parents participating and we bet there are more Amazon shoppers out there! Think how much more we can earn by just one extra click!

Golden Apple Grants
Do you know what a Golden Apple Grant is? Ever heard of them? Well, here is your chance to find out! The VFMS PTO has created a fund to support outstanding and innovative programs, ideas and/or purchases which will enrich the educational experience at VFMS. The standard Golden Apple Grant is $200 and typically up to 10 grants will be made available during each school year.
Do you have an idea we can support? We are accepting grant applications now for the 2013-14 school year. Any member of the VFMS community is welcome to apply including teachers, staff, administrators, parents and of course students. The PTO Board will review submitted applications and grant recipients will be notified and receive funds on a 'first come, first served' basis until all budgeted funds have been allocated.
Please send completed applications to Tarina Mahtab
via email or by hardcopy to the PTO mailbox in the VFMS main office. Questions? Please contact Tarina.
