Harlem Wizards Tickets Available on Two Dates ONLY!

Event Date: March 21st, 2014 @ CHS

Tickets will be sold TOMORROW Monday, February 24th  

at SUBWAY in the Chesterbrook location only at 500 Chesterbrook Blvd, Chesterbrook from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. You can have dinner and buy your tickets.  There will be 775 tickets available for sale on this date.

 

Tickets will be sold on Thursday, February 27th at SO FUN! YOGURT at 315 East Lancaster Avenue in Wayne (near Chipotle) from 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm or until they are sold out. This is an early dismissal day, so come celebrate with yogurt and buy your tickets. There will be 775 tickets available for sale on this date.

Important:  Tickets will NOT be sold through the schools. Tickets are limited & we expect this event will sell out quickly. All tickets are General Admission and cost $10.00.  We accept cash and checks only.

 
Fundraising Update!

Just a reminder regarding two fantastic programs that can benefit YOU and VFMS!

Spirit Wear:  Help your VFMS student show their school pride.  Shop our entire spirit wear line online.  Youth sizing has been added for many items and you can have items shipped directly to your house!

Amazon:  Don't forget!  The next time you go to shop on Amazon, please first click on the Amazon link located on our PTO home page.  You will be directed to the regular Amazon home page and the VFMS PTO will receive a percentage of what you spend.  You do not need to sign up for a special card - it is the easiest way to shop on your favorite website and still support your favorite middle school!

Save the date for the VFMS Bookfair!

March 4-6, 2014

 

The VFMS book fair is just TWO WEEKS AWAY!  The hours and dates for the fair are:

 

Tuesday, March 4th

7:30 a.m. - 3:15 p.m. AND 6:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. 

during the Ice Cream Social

 

Wednesday, March 5th

7:30 a.m. - 3:15 p.m.

 

Thursday, March 6th

7:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.

 

Students will be given the opportunity to shop during one of their classes and are welcome to also come before and after school as well as during activity.  Plan ahead and send in some book fair spending money with your child.  We have eliminated the "toys" this year to focus and encourage students to select great books!

 

Parents are WELCOME to stop by and shop any time during the hours listed above! Cash, checks and credit cards will be accepted.  Thank you for supporting the VFMS PTO!

 

Volunteers - WE NEED YOU!  If you can spare some time, we really need parents to sign up for shifts to help at the fair. Please sign-up on iVolunteer.  We have also attached the class visitation schedule.

 

Ice Cream Social at the Book Fair

Tuesday, March 4th, 6:30 - 8:00 p.m.

 

Join your fellow VFMS families for shopping and dessert!  Stop by the Book Fair on Tuesday evening March 4th from 6:30 - 8:30 to shop for spring and summer reading favorites, then make your way down to the cafeteria for a variety of ice cream flavors.  Think spring and enjoy an ice cream treat before you get your dancing shoes on -- DJ Ben Ostroff will be spinning tunes in the small gym, while basketball games will be taking place in the main gym. 

 

A triple scoop of thank you to Liz Hyams for chairing this year's Ice Cream Social!  Liz needs YOUR help to make the event a success! Please click on link to sign up to assist with a shift at the Ice Cream Social - scooping ice cream will never be this much fun!

 

VFMS Parents Network Lunch

Ping Pong, March 5, 2014

 

Would you like to meet and talk to other parents from VFMS - join us for LUNCH on March 5 at Noon at Ping Pong Chinese restaurant in Gateway Shopping Center!

Chairpersons Wanted!

End of Year Staff Luncheon- Friday, June 20th

 

The annual end of year staff luncheon will be held on Friday, June 20th following the end of the school day.  We are in need of two chairpersons to put together the luncheon for our VFMS faculty and staff.  Your responsibilities will include coordinating volunteers and planning a lunch menu, setting up in the cafeteria following the 8th grade graduation reception, organizing the food being served, cleaning up following the event and preparing a folder documenting the details of the event for the PTO files.

Parent Social News - Join the Committee!

 

We are re-invigorating our annual Parent Social and are excited to plan a Fall Tailgate themed event, to be held during football season.  Chili cookoff anyone? 

 

Planning meetings will begin in April, following  spring break.  If you would like to grab a friend and co-chair the parent social, or simply join the committee, please send an email to faufiero@verizon.net and we will make sure you are invited to our kickoff meeting this spring.

 

Lend or Donate?

 

We are looking to borrow the following items for use in our production of The Wizard of Oz, March 20-29.  If you are able to lend or donate any of these items please drop them off at the school to Michele Simmoneau in the Library or Main Office M-F between 7am-5pm.  Make sure your name and phone number are clearly labeled on the item so that we may return it to you!!!!  Thanks for all your support!  We look forward to presenting an incredible show in March!!!

T&E Care Is Looking for Kids Clothes

 

T&E Care is looking for donations of new or gently used clothing for infants through teens for its upcoming Kids Clothing Grab Bag.  Items can be dropped off anytime between March 13th - 21st at any of the local schools (including ours), Play It Again Sports (Berwyn), Doctor's Best (Berwyn) or Club La Maison (Wayne).   Please only drop items off when the schools/businesses are open. Clothing

for all seasons, plus good quality

shoes, boots, coats, belts or other accessories will be accepted.  For a list of items not accepted, and for other information, please go to www.tecare.org.   Be sure to also mark your calendars for the Grab Bag itself, March 28th (2:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.) or March 29th (9:00 a.m. - Noon) at St. Matthew's United Methodist Church on Walker Rd.  This fundraiser for T&E Care is a great chance for everyone to restock your kids' closets with great quality clothes.  A suggested donation of $5/bag is appreciated. Play Conestoga Rugby! 
 
Did you know ALL Middle School students can play for Conestoga Rugby?  Yes, even 5th and 6th graders!  All boys and girls in grades 5,6,7 and 8 are welcome to join one of the
fastest growing sports in the United States.  It is fast, fun and easy to learn!  Bring a friend and come lear about this amazing sport.  The season is just about to start.  Check out our website for more details.
 
CHS hosts Youth BBall Clinic
 
Conestoga High School Baseball team will be hosting a

youth clinic for ages 5 - 12 on March 16th.  Players and Coaches will conduct age appropriate training sessions Hitting, Throwing, Catching and Fielding.

FLITE Doesn't Take the Summer Off!

 

FLITE provides scholarships for T/E students to attend academic and leadership camps.

 

If you are interested in more information and the

qualifications, please contact your child's T/E school

guidance counselor at your earliest convenience.

 

The Foundation for Learning In Tredyffrin/Easttown's camp scholarship assistance, based on financial need, is available on a limited basis for the residents of the townships of Tredyffrin and Easttown. www.flite-pa.org.
