VFMS Red Ribbon Week
October 28 - November 1
Red Ribbon Week starts Monday at Valley Forge Middle School! Red Ribbon Week is the oldest and largest drug prevention campaign in the country. It began after DEA Special Agent Enrique Camarena died at the hands of drug traffickers in Mexico while fighting the battle against illegal drugs to keep our country safe. The goal of Red Ribbon Week is to encourage our youth to say NO to drugs.
Students are asked to join the campaign to make VFMS drug free by participating in the Red Ribbon Week spirit days and by helping to decorate their homebase door!
Red Ribbon Week Spirit Days:
Monday, Oct. 28 - "Together We Pledge to Stay Drug Free"- wear VFMS spirit wear.
Tuesday, Oct. 29 - "Don't Get Mixed up with Drugs" - wear Mismatched Clothes.

T&E Care Fall Fest
The 2013 Tredyffrin & Easttown Care Fall Fest is scheduled for Saturday, November 9, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. at St. Davids Golf Club. T&E Care offers emergency or other types of support to families right in our community. The repair of a
car, an electric shut-off notice, or a rent default are samples of the types of financial support offered. Additionally, T&E Care offers budgeting advise to families, assistance to CHS seniors (and graduates) in covering some required college-related expenses, when loans or grants are not enough. It also helps pay for summer camp for students, covers the cost of lunches for some students whose families make just over the free/reduced limits, and gets school supplies and holiday gifts for students and families. The Fall Fest is run in order to have the funding available for a quick response to these often emergency requests. The invitations will be available on the T&E Care website starting on October 8. If you can't attend but would like to support the event, raffle tickets will be sold on the website (you do not need to be present to win) and some silent auction prizes will be available for pre-bidding. Check the website for more details, or to sign up to receive information about how you can help with the important services offered by T&E Care. |
