Teacher of the Week
Meet Teacher of the Week... Reginald Holmes. Mr. Holmes has been an 8th Grade Social Studies teacher at VFMS for 3 years now, after having taught at Conestoga High School. He gained his B.A. from Neumann University in Political Science and Secondary Education, furthering his education with an M.A. in Educational Leadership with Principal certification from the same university. He has been married to his wife Tiffany for 6 years. In an interview with the PTO, Mr Holmes shared the following information.

This Friday is the big
VFMS PINK OUT!
This week is the final opportunity
to purchase your pink shirt to support Breast Cancer
 Awareness Month. The Student Council will be selling the shirts on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday mornings in the Student Council Corner. The shirts are not limited to students here at Valley Forge. Buy some for you family members and friends as well. The cost is $10.00, and all proceeds go to support a great cause. Friday will be the big "PINK OUT." Wear your VFMS Thinks Pink T-Shirts along with other pink clothing items you may have.

Students may wear or bring their costumes to school on October 31st for a Costume Contest during lunch. Masks and large hats should not be worn to class.
Before the students' lunch and activity period, students may  change into their costume and/or bring any additional pieces of their costume with them. Judging Categories are:

Registration is OPEN for the new VFES Falcon 5k Run/Walk and 1 Mile Kids' Fun Run in Wilson Farm Park. There will be music, prizes for the winners in each age category and more. T&E Care Fall Fest
The 2013 Tredyffrin & Easttown Care Fall Fest is scheduled for Saturday, November 9, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. at St. Davids Golf Club. T&E Care offers emergency or other types of support to families right in our community. The repair of a
 car, an electric shut-off notice, or a rent default are samples of the types of financial support offered. Additionally, T&E Care offers budgeting advise to families, assistance to CHS seniors (and graduates) in covering some required college-related expenses, when loans or grants are not enough. It also helps pay for summer camp for students, covers the cost of lunches for some students whose families make just over the free/reduced limits, and gets school supplies and holiday gifts for students and families. The Fall Fest is run in order to have the funding available for a quick response to these often emergency requests. The invitations will be available on the T&E Care website starting on October 8. If you can't attend but would like to support the event, raffle tickets will be sold on the website (you do not need to be present to win) and some silent auction prizes will be available for pre-bidding. Check the website for more details, or to sign up to receive information about how you can help with the important services offered by T&E Care. |
