Ms. Jiménez-Arévalo leaves Maternal and Child Health Consortium [MCHC], where she is the Director of the Kennett Square Family Center and MCHC Director of Community Relations. Previously, Nelly was the Family Social Services and Housing Manager with Congreso de Latinos Unidos, Inc. in Philadelphia.

Born in Venezuela, Nelly came to the United States in 1989. She holds a law degree from Universidad Santa María, Caracas, where she also completed postgraduate study in business law and human resource management. Nelly has been awarded academic certification from Bryn Mawr and Temple in executive leadership and real estate practice.

Nelly is welcomed by ACLAMO´s first executive director Adamino Ortiz.
"With 38 years of experience, ACLAMO knows the Latino community and has earned the trust of Latino families," stated ACLAMO board president Houghton Kane. "This trust is built on the dedication of ACLAMO employees and the success of our programs. Under the leadership of Nelly Jiménez-Arévalo and the loyalty of our many supporters, we look forward to dramatically expanding ACLAMO's work with the growing number of Latino families in this region."

"I am very excited by the opportunity to lead this wonderful organization and take it to the next level," Nelly stated.  "With the combination of our already strong programs, my experience, and the commitment of our partners and supporters, I am sure that together we will be able to achieve the success we all want for ACLAMO."

HELP CELEBRATE NELLY!

As you read this special issue of the ACLAMO newsletter, you will understand why members of the board of directors are celebrating Nelly Jiménez-Arévalo, the new executive director.  Nelly is a highly qualified leader, who is ready to build on the foundation laid by outgoing executive director Juan Guerra´s seven years of hard work.  Nelly will begin on July 1.

However, in order for Nelly and the rest of the ACLAMO staff to accomplish the expanded programming needed to serve an increasing number of Latino families, many new financial contributors are needed from among the 400 regular newsletter readers.  If you have not yet sent a gift to ACLAMO this year, please realize how much our children and their families need your financial support.

To make Nelly´s welcome a real celebration, join the board of directors and others who already have contributed to ACLAMO this year. It is easy to make a generous contribution today by following this link:
