Some of the ACLAMO children get together
to wish newsletter readers Happy Valentine´s Day.

As thoughts turn to celebrating Valentine´s Day, ACLAMO asks each reader to become a Valentine Amigo by joining our Amigos de ACLAMO Program. Each Amigo de ACLAMO agrees to make regular gifts to ACLAMO. These recurring gifts, even if modest in amount, allow ACLAMO to plan its programming with confidence.
You can join the Amigos de ACLAMO by donating a minimum gift of just $20 each month. Other Amigos give much larger amounts, some monthly, some quarterly, or some prefer to give a large annual gift. All is appreciated.
Amigos receive special, individual communications regularly from ACLAMO, notes and handcrafts from our students, and invitations to special events.
To join Amigos de ACLAMO, simply go to our Amigo donation page and make your first donation. JOIN ON LINE Alternatively, you may wish to contact ACLAMO for more information or to arrange to make regular payments by mail. GET MORE INFORMATION

Most newsletter readers are aware of the programs which deal with the education of children and their parents, but those important programs represent only a part of ACLAMO´s work.
During 2014, ACLAMO's social service teams resolved over 3,000 requests for information and provided more intensive bilingual case management for 528 clients of all ages from infants to the elderly.
One-third of cases directly addressed child welfare (child custody, domestic violence, housing, food security, education counseling and access to special education services).
One-third of cases resolved health-related needs for all age groups (securing health insurance and/or emergency medical coverage, access to primary care, specialty care, prenatal care, dental care, behavioral health, early intervention, and medical social work for chronic conditions).
The remaining cases addressed a wide range of other issues.
Overall, the most active areas of need included:
- health insurance and healthcare access
- income security, food security, energy assistance
- legal, justice, immigration assistance
ACLAMO and all our families thank you for your financial support, which made all this important work possible!

The latest joint project entails 8 members of Episcopal Academy´s Robotics Team coming to ACLAMO every Thursday for six weeks to teach students the basics of robotics. The first three weeks in January were focused on the 4th graders. The next three weeks are for middle school students.
"Our students have never been more excited about anything," enthuses Marla Benssy, ACLAMO´s Director of Adult Education and School Age Programs. THREE KINGS CELEBRATION
 |
Children check out the toys at the Three Kings event in Pottstown.
|
ACLAMO Pottstown celebrated the feast of the Tres Reyes Magos (The Three Kings) with a party on January 3rd. This tradition commemorates the presentation of gold, frankincense, and myrrh by the Three Kings at Christmastime. It is also the day when gifts are traditionally given to Latino children.
Thanks to the support of the Marine Corps Toys for Tots Campaign and in partnership with International Freedom Worship, ACLAMO distributed donated gifts to local disadvantaged families. Over 200 children attended that day and left with big smiles on their faces.
