The two kits seen in Mike Morton's YouTube
We've done all the cutting for our bubinga Spokeshave Kit -- you just have to glue in the brass wear-strip and shape the handles to suit your hands. Morton's video shows you how. All the parts are included: depth-adjuster set screws, brass thumb screws to secure the blade, and a HOCK blade.
A small version of our ever popular Krenov-style wooden plane kit, this handy Block Plane comes with a 1" wide blade, ends up 5 3/4" long and trims down to 5" or less depending on your needs. Isaac Fisher, who also designed the Hock Tools Scratch Stock,
made the one pictured here just 3 1/2" long, a very convenient size for an apron pocket. We've made this kit so you can make it to fit your hand and style. Note Morton's to the right and watch his video on how he made a Hock Tools Block Plane from the kit.
Happy Toolidays!

Michael Scott Morton, just Morton to us, is the consummate modern woodworker, and an involved participant in the woodworking community. He's a toolmaker, a do-it-yourself instructor, a videographer, an active Modern Woodworkers Association member--including the Get Woodworking project--and an enthusiastic bearer of good news about woodworking. He often shares with the community his own odysseys at the bench.
Morton's got a Twitter handle, @Morton; a website at http://www.scottmorton.com, a Facebook page, and a YouTube site; he's a social media maven. Very instructive for us, plenty of great content, altogether well done! What endears Mike Morton to us most is that he is a great appreciator of Hock Tools, which is best observed on YouTube, where Morton's videos on how-to woodwork are picking up steam and viewers. Two such videos provide instruction on building the Hock Tools Spokeshave and Block Plane kits.
We at Hock Tools couldn't be more grateful, because truth be told? Mike Morton's enthusiasm helps us tell our story and the story of the value in building your own handtools. Thank you Mike Morton! Morton's Video on Building Your Own Spokeshave from the Hock Tools Spokeshave Kit:

All you have to do is to click on these videos and they will play. And, these tools are great gifts, quick and easy to make for a fellow woodworker, or in their everything-you-need kit form.

Thank You, Mike Morton!
