Message from Mrs. Kunze

Only 4 more days - yeah!  I know that the students are ready for summer!  Don't forget that Thursday, the last day of school, is 1pm dismissal.

Tomorrow, Monday, is the last day of district exams.   The rest of the week will be used for make-up exams.

Yearbooks have been delivered!  Students will receive their yearbook on Tuesday.

The 7th graders have been reading The Outsiders this quarter.  Tuesday and Wednesday are their Outsiders Days with fun activities planned through Language Arts. Students and faculty are encouraged to participate by dressing up as either a "Soc" or a "Greaser."

Tuesday afternoon during Black 4 we will have locker clean-out.  Again, this year we will ask that unused or gently used school supplies be donated to the St Johns Educational Foundation, Ink! to be used at schools in our district.  After Tuesday, large backpacks will not be allowed at school, since students will not have access to their locker.

Current 6th & 7th grade students will receive summer reading requirements in their language arts class either Monday or Tuesday.  We will also send requirements and supply lists for next year in next week's Raider Rap.

The 8th graders will have an assembly Tuesday morning from the St Johns Sheriff's department titled, Know the Law.

We had the 8th grade dance this past Friday night at Switzerland Community Church.  The event was a huge success with everyone having a great time.  We would like to thank the parents who planned and decorated - Angela Andrews, Paula Camp, Michelle Collins, Ali Lindenfeld, Jamie & Windsor McIntosh, Lisa Sinclair, and Tabitha Sorensen.  We can not host the event without our parent volunteers!!  We would also like to thank Switzerland Community Church for allowing us to use their facility.

Thank you to the 18 parents that sent in proof of their 6th graders Tdap shot for 7th grade!  There are still 252 students that we do not have proof of their immunization.  If your child had their Tdap shot and you are unsure if we have received it, please do not hesitate to contact Norma Miller at norma.miller@stjohns.k12.fl.us or Cynthia Casper at cynthia.casper@stjohns.k12.fl.us.  The school does have access to the state wide Florida Shots system to review your child's immunization record and print it. Before you know it school will be starting and your student will not be able to start on the first day or get their schedule. There will be no exceptions! The Tdap shot must be documented on a Florida 680 form. No receipts will be accepted. If you have any questions please email me at joan.beccard@stjohns.k12.fl.us or call 547-8628.

Information Changes
