Message from Mrs. Kunze
It is hard to believe that we are approaching the end of the 3rd nine weeks. Grades should have been updated today by all teachers. Please check HAC to monitor your child's progress. Next Thursday the 17th is the last day of the quarter.
Students will have 6 days off...
Friday, March 18th - Teacher Planning day
Monday, March 21st through Monday, March 28th - Spring Break.
We will return to school on Tuesday, March 29th (Black day with Raider Hour).
Switzerland Point MS will be hosting a Blood Drive on Friday, March 18th. If you can donate, please click on the link below for appointment information.
Click here for informational flyer for the blood drive.
PTSO will host a Color Run on Thursday, April 7th during the school day during an extended Raider Hour. A flyer was given to students today to take home. The cost is $35, which includes a t-shirt, snow cone, and popcorn. There will also be music and concessions. The proceeds from this fundraiser will go towards purchasing more tables for the cafeteria patio.
The District Battle of the Books is this Tuesday, March 15th. Good Luck Reading Raiders!!
Camille Aguilar, Connor Searcy, Colin Whatley, Abby Wilson, Bridget Clift, Reyana Torres and Justin Evans
Raider Hour activities this Thursday, March 17th.
Students who need to make-up a test or see a teacher for remediation takes precedence over attending a meeting. Academics are always top priority!!
Make-up testing in cafeteria
8th grade behavior expectation assembly in auditorium
Chess Club in 580 w/Rizzuto
Garden Club in 520 w/Stanke
Reading Raiders in Media Center w/Gill
6th grade Art Club in 755 w/Montesano
Dreams Come True meeting in portable 1 w/Bower
Band Groups (French Horn Friends, Tuba Tutors, Baritone Buddies, and Bassoon Buddies) if needed
Below is the FSA & EOC schedule, PLEASE mark your calendars and try not to schedule anything when your child will be testing. The tests are all back to back so squeezing in make-up exams is very difficult. If you are discussing schedules with a mom from a different middle school, our schedule is slightly different. The state selects schools every year to help calibrate each exam and Swiss was chosen for 6th grade math, so we must administer 6th grade math during the first week of testing.
Tuesday, March 1st - FSA Writing (120mins)
6th & 7th grades are paper/pencil
8th grade is computer-based
April 11th - 14th: 6th grade FSA Math
April 15th & 18th: 6th grade FSA Reading
April 19th - 22nd: 7th grade FSA Math
April 25th & 26th: 8th grade FSA Reading

May 11th & 12th: Geometry EOC
The window for district final exams is May 13th through May 25th.
Old Cell Phone Drive to Support Ronald McDonald House
NJHS is sponsoring an old cell phone drive for the Ronald McDonald House. Students may turn in old cell phones to their homeroom teacher. The Ronald McDonald House recycles the phones for a small profit to raise funds to support the families staying there. The phones do not have to be in working condition to be recycled. The last day to turn in phones is Thursday, March 17th.
Swiss Point has a Shoparoo account.
Shoparoo is an extremely easy way to fundraise for Swiss Point. All you have to do is download the app on your phone and take pictures of your shopping receipts. We earn points for each receipt, which turn into dollars for Swiss! How easy! Patroit Oaks just received $1,000. Please download the app today and enter Swiss Point's code - swub3488.

Some students have found our Golden Books.....but there are still some to be found! Use the Lucky Charm jingle to help you find a book in the library that will have a hidden coin in it. For example the "horseshoe", could it be in a book about a horse? Or maybe a book that has a horse as a character? There will not be just one book, there will be numerous books throughout the month, all based on the Lucky Charm Jingle.
Spring into a NEW book! We have bought a bunch of new books for the end of the year. Be the first to check them out!

Licensed Practical Nurse

Parents, I know you may think it is too early to be thinking about you 6th grader's Tdap for 7th grade but it is not! So far only 80 students have received it. That leaves just about 300 that still need the shot for 7th grade. Spring break would be a great time to take care of this requirement. The Tdap shot must be documented on a Florida 680 form. This can be obtained from your doctor's office, a walk in clinic or the St. Johns County Health Department. Please call me at 547-8628 if you have any questions. You can also email me at the above email address.
Thank you, Nurse Beccard
5-2-1 Almost Done
Parents, so many students come to the clinic and have not eaten any breakfast. They tell me they did not have time. I keep going back to the jingle I learned from Nemours on their phone when you are on hold. It had kids singing "5-2-1 almost none." That stands for 5 fruits and vegetables, 2 hours or less of screen time, one hour of physical activity and almost no sugary drinks! That is what they should be doing daily. I wish that everyone would try to practice this. You will not only be helping them with their health now but also their future health
New Prescription Medication Form
There is a revised prescription medication form on our website under Parents. Click on Clinic/Health information and you will find the new form there. Any questions, call please feel free to call Joan Beccard,
