Message from Mrs. Kunze
Please remember that we are off Monday AND Tuesday next week. We hope that you enjoy the 4-day weekend!
School grades were released from FL DOE today. Swiss Point is an A school again! Thank you to all of our students and teachers!!
Grades were updated today. Please check your child's progress in their classes.
We had an issue with the link last week. Everything has been fixed, so PLEASE take a few minutes to complete the Swiss Point SAC Parent Needs Assessment Survey. We value your feedback.
The link below is a letter from Dr. Joyner advising the procedure and deadline dates for an Out of Zone Hardship waiver. Copies of the letter were sent home with students on Wednesday.
PLEASE mark your calendars with these important dates! If you have not been able to attend the grade level informational meetings, the PowerPoints are on the parent page of the Swiss Point website.
Thu, Feb. 18th - Creekside High School's 9th grade Ramp-Up night at 6pm in their auditorium. (This is for all current 8th graders who will be attending CHS.)
Tue, Feb. 23rd - current 5th grade informational meeting for course registration at 6:30pm in auditorium
Fri, Feb. 19th - current 7th graders will be told if they were accepted into a non-core course that required application
Wed, Feb. 24th - counselors available for current 5th grade parents to drop in for questions from 1:30-3:30pm in Swiss Point's guidance office.
Fri, Feb. 26th - Course selection forms from ALL students are due to Guidance.
Raider Hour activities this Thursday, Feb. 18th.
Students who need to make-up a test or see a teacher for remediation takes precedence over attending a meeting. Academics are always top priority!!
Make-up testing in cafeteria
Student Council meeting in MPR w/O'Connor
Garden Club in room 510 w/Stanke
Reading Raiders in Media Center w/Gill
6th grade Art Club in room 755 w/Montesano
Dreams Come True Meeting in portable 1 w/Bower
Band Groups (French Horn Friends, Tuba Tutors, Baritone Buddies, and Bassoon Buddies) if needed
Attention 8th grade Parents:
Students have received permission slips for our GradVenture field trip on Friday, May 6th. Students who have served ISD or OSS this semester are NOT eligible to attend. If a student receives ISD or OSS before the trip, he will NOT be able to attend and there is NO refund.
Important Information:
- ABSOLUTE LAST DAY to turn in COMPLETED forms and money is Friday, Feb. 19th.
- Students were given field trip forms, but all forms are on the 8th grade Edmodo page.
- Universal annual passes may not be used. This is a special event by Universal, so they do not allow annual passes.
- If students did not purchase an 8th grade class t-shirt earlier in the year, they must also purchase a t-shirt.
- After Feb. 19th, you will no longer accept permission slips, etc. At that point students will have to see Mrs. Rizzuto with everything. Students will be placed on a wait-list once we determine the number of remaining seats on the charter buses.
- Students will depart Swiss at 1pm on Friday and return around 3am Saturday morning at PUBLIX on 210.
The district's next Gifted Parent Advisory Council meeting will be held Thursday, March 3rd from 4:30-5:30pm at Gamble Rogers MS. The council meets 4 times a year and meetings are open to all parents throughout the district K-12. The final meeting for this year will be held at Mill Creek Elementary on Thursday, April 21st from 5:30-6:30pm.
Below is the FSA & EOC schedule, PLEASE mark your calendars and try not to schedule anything when your child will be testing. The tests are all back to back so squeezing in make-up exams is very difficult. If you are discussing schedules with a mom from a different middle school, our schedule is slightly different. The state selects schools every year to help calibrate each exam and Swiss was chosen for 6th grade math, so we must administer 6th grade math during the first week of testing.
