I apologize, but I made an error on the testing schedule below in regards to the Civics mid-term and the final exams for semester Art and semester Drama.
We have had several questions today about taking exams early. Exams can not be administered early. If students are not present on make-up day, Dec. 18th, then exams will be taken when classes resume on Wednesday, Jan. 6th. It is very important that students are present during the exam schedule.

The Civics mid-term will NOT be administered on the 7th & 8th. Students will take their Civics mid-term through Ms. Hurst's class during the period they have computers. For example, students have computers w/Hurst Black 4, then they take Civics on Friday, Dec. 11th. If they have computers w/Hurst Silver 3, then they take the mid-term for Civics on Monday, Dec. 14th.

Language Arts 1, 2 & 3 - Standard & Advanced
- District written mid-term. Students across the district will take the same exam.
- Mid-term is paper/pencil and will be administered during Language Arts class.
- District will grade and score the mid-term.
- Teachers will enter scores into the 2nd quarter summative category. The mid-term will be weighted to count about 5% of the 2nd quarter grade.
- On the report card quarters 1 & 2 will average together to create a semester grade. There will not be a semester exam grade on report card.
Writing 1 & 2 - 6th & 7th grade AND
Intensive Reading in 8th grade
- This course provides struggling students with additional time in Language Arts.
- There will not be a separate exam for this course. The score for the Language Arts mid-term exam will be entered into the semester exam column of the gradebook.
- On the report card the semester grade will calculate with quarter grades counting 47.5% and the Language Arts mid-term counting 5%.
