Message from Mrs. Kunze
This past Tuesday, the School Board approved the district calendar for 16-17 school year. You can view the calendar on the district website.
Many of you have older children or just like to stay informed, so I thought you might be interested in knowing about the new SAT. The College Board has said its redesigned admission test would contain "no more mysteries." Instead of being a riddle to solve, it would correspond with the high-school curriculum and better reflect what students have learned.
We will have a Raider Hour on Tuesday, November 17th. A signature from a teacher for extra help or needing to take a make-up test always trumps attending a club meeting. Academic concerns are always priority during Raider Hour.
Make-up testing in cafeteria
Dreams Come True meeting in MPR
NJHS meeting in auditorium
Garden Club (green pass) in 510 (Responsibility)
Chess/Checkers Club meeting in rm 580 (Trustworthiness)

In December students will take mid-term exams in year long courses and final exams in semester courses. The December testing schedule is below. PLEASE review the schedule before making appointments or travel plans. It is extremely important that students are present for these exams.
Important Dates to remember as you are making holiday plans.
Wednesday, November 25th IS a school day this year.
Friday, December 18th is our last day before Winter Break. Students will have a 1pm dismissal on the 18th.

Holiday Shoppe Coordinator Needed.
The Holiday Shoppe will be opening around the first week in December and there is still a need for a coordinator. If you are interested in supervising setup, pricing, and "money" management, please contact Mrs. Casper at cynthia.casper@stjohns.k12.fl.us This is a fun and rewarding volunteer experience. A SignUp Genius will be sent the middle of the month requesting volunteers to "run the store"! Thanks in advance for all the help.
Thanks to all who have sent in donations. We are slowly building our stock of merchandise.
SPMS is accepting donations for the Holiday Shoppe, which is basically like a big garage sale. Students use Raider Bucks to purchase gifts for their family members for the holidays. Our students love the store and enjoy being able to surprise family members with gifts. Items donated must be new or gently used. Gifts for Dads are especially needed. Donations can be left with Mrs. Casper in the Guidance office. Thank you!!!

Battle of the Books sign up is underway. Many students have signed up already. You do not have to read all 7 books to do this fun school wide event. Team up with your friends that have read them and make a team that has read all 7. The books on this battle round will be: Counting by 7's, The Eighth Day, Eye of the Storm, Jack Strong Takes a Stand, Jungle of Bones, The Night Gardener, and Project Jackalope.
Make sure your student is returning their books on time. We have over 300 books that are overdue and hundreds of dollars in overdue fees. Fees are accumulating daily on any book that is overdue.

The SPMS Raider Football Team came up just short of a Championship win. It was a great game. Our Varsity Team did an incredible job and we are so proud of them for the effort they put in (not just in this game - but all season long). The final score was Sebastian 14 - Swiss Point 13. Thank you to everyone who came out to support the Raiders. It was great looking up from the field to see the incredible "Sea of Black" and the sheer number of Raider Football Fans. We do have the BEST families in the league!
Congratulations to our 2015 AllStar Raider Football Players. These 12 athletes were hand-picked by their Coach for their incredible work ethic and one field performance and they will represent Swiss Point Saturday when the best-of-the-best players from the North Schools (Swiss, Fruit Cove, Landrum and LPA) will team up and play the best-of-the-best from the Southern schools (Pacetti, Gamble, Sebastian and Murray).
