Message from Mrs. Kunze

We had a fabulous 1st day of school!  THANK YOU to everyone who came on Saturday to get schedules, textbooks, etc.  The students seemed very comfortable today and the majority of them, even the 6th graders, knew where they were going.

We also want to send a HUGE THANK YOU to all of our volunteers and SPMS staff who worked on Saturday.  We could not hold the "Get Ready for School" event without their assistance!

To help keep all of our studnets safe, we need to review a few morning and afternoon procedures.

If your child rides the bus...

*  Please remind them to remain seated and to keep the conversation level down, so the driver can focus on the road.  When students arrive on campus, they remain on the bus until 7:30am.

*  Please ensure that your child knows the bus number they ride home.  If they have a tendency to forget, have him write it in their planner.

*  At dismissal, students need to exit the building and get on their bus as quickly as possible.  They are not to stand around socializing with their friends.  When our buses depart late, we cause delays for the elementary and high school routes.

*  Remind your child that phones are not allowed on the bus.

*  If you are parking in the back for sports, you may NOT enter the bus loop until ALL buses have departed.

If your child rides their bike to school...

*  A helmet must be worn to and from school.

*  Students are to ride on the sidewalk, not the road.

*  Students must secure their bike in the bike rack.

If your child walks to school...

* Talk to your child about only crossing the street at the crossing guard.

If your child is parent drop-off...

*  Drop-off starts at 7:10am not any earlier.

* Please pull all the way forward in the loop.

* Children need to have their belongings in hand to quickly exit the vehicle when the vehicle stops.

* If your child has a football bag or lots of stuff, please pull forward past Mrs. Kunze to unload to keep the line moving.

*  Students can stand outside, sit in the main hallway, or go into the media center until they are allowed in the halls at 7:30am.

*  Cell phones are not to be used on campus in the mornings.

If your child is parent pick-up...

*  If you arrive to school early, please stay parked in the turn lane on the road until the last ESE bus exits the front loop.  We have 5 ESE buses this year and transportation has asked us to keep the loop free of vehicles.

*  Please hang your child's first or last name in your passenger side window.  We are going to call names this year to see if this speeds up the pick-up line.

*  Cell phones are not allowed at dismissal.  Students need to be looking for their ride.

*  Please pull all the way forward in the loop.  Do not stop when you see your child leaving a huge space between cars.

*  PLEASE do not tell your child to walk out to the road to avoid the parent pick-up line.  This is very dangerous.

*  Don't forget that Wednesdays are 1pm dismissal.

We are looking forward to a fabulous year and hope that you are too!

Volunteer at BTHS

Do you want to Volunteer at Bartram Trail High School?
Do you want to know if your application is still active?
Volunteer Applications are active for 3 years. However, many of us can't remember when we filled them out. That is OK, just email me (Nery DiDeo - BT Volunteer Coordinator) at:
bthsvolcoordinator@gmail.com  I can check your volunteer status as long as you email me your Full Name and Birthdate. Please DO NOT fill out a NEW form if you have already done so at some time with our district. If you have NEVER filled out a Volunteer Form, please go to the Bartram Trail Website and on the bottom right you will find the link to the "School Access" form. You MUST fill out this form and be an approved volunteer in order to volunteer and/or go into our school. It is best to do this before the school year starts because August is a very busy month for Volunteer Applications. Thank you and Welcome to Bear Country, I can't wait to see you and hopefully volunteer with you next year :)
