Thanks to the Swiss Point Cares Committee!
Shana Webster is leading the Swiss Point Cares Committee and we're off to a great start. The committee looks for needs within the Swiss Point Community and within our county. We were able to support both homeless services for St. Johns County and St. Augustine Youth Services (known to lots of us as the Boys Home). Many of our elementary schools supported SAYS through fundraisers in elementary school so this is a nice way to continue that tradition. Within our own school we've been able to support some of our families in the true spirit of a caring community. Thanks to everyone who has participated in the committee meetings. Watch for what they have planned next to include our students in the giving!
Magazine Sales
You can order magazines all year long! Please visit www.gaschoolstore.com and enter school ID 2529543.
Box Tops
Calling for all Box Tops! If you have any at home, please send them in this week. We have to submit them by the end of this month. Your student will receive 1 Raider Buck for every 25 Box Tops turned in. Thanks in advance!

Seaton's Corner
It is now the end of 3rd quarter! Report cards will be issued on the Friday that we get back from Spring Break (March 27th). This Spring Break is coming at a good time for students and their families to have time to rest, strengthen our bonds as family members, and make some memories! It is also a time for our students to reflect on this school year, learn from their mistakes, and set goals for improvement for this last quarter coming up. Please remind your student that this last quarter's grades have just as much weight toward their yearly grade averages as the other quarters during the year. For many students, this will be a last chance to pull up their grades. Please talk with your child about continuing their academic motivation and good behavior choices throughout the end of this school year. Have a wonderful Spring Break!
8th grade Parents and Students!
Registration for 9th grade for students who will be attending Bartram Trail or Creekside High Schools will have appointments on either March 31st or April 1st. Students attending Nease High School will have appointments on March 31st. Information will be sent home the week after Spring Break with the exact date and time of your child's scheduled appointment. Appointment times cannot be changed, so if the parent cannot attend, the student will still meet with someone from the high school to register for next year at their appointed date/time. Students MUST bring their course description list with a parent signature. Parents can write notes on this form and can call the high school after their child's appointment to speak with the registrar or guidance counselor if they have any questions.

Over the Counter Medications
Parents, please do not send your students with over the counter medications and a hand written note. All meds must be brought in by an adult and have an over the counter form accompany the medication. This form can be found on the SPMS website under the link for parents. There is an over the counter form and a Rx form there for you to print out.
The meds must be in an original sealed container.
Changes in Personal Information
Parents, your help is needed. I spend many hours each week calling parents when students are sick, injured, etc. However, I find when I call home numbers I often get a message that says "this number is disconnected." I call work numbers and they say "they have not worked here in 5 years." Then your student says " my parents got new cell numbers but I don't know what they are." Please notify our computer operator, Norma Miller, at 547-8626 for changes in your contact numbers. You can also e-mail

Raider Band News
|
Many of our band students will be performing at the Music Performance Assessment (MPA) this weekend. Best wishes to our Raider Bands!!!
During band classes on Monday and Tuesday, March 9th and 10th, students will have the opportunity to have their band photo taken with their instrument for a keepsake. Sheets will be sold for $16 each, ordered online and delivered in the spring. More information is coming soon in an email to band parents.
Fundraisers
To fund our excellent band program we are always excited to offer carefully chosen fund raisers.
Dunkin Donuts Coffee should be delivered before spring break. Thank you for supporting our coffee sale!
We have a fundraiser with Bozard Ford that continues on from last year. Purchase an oil change certificate for $20: a $35 value. These certificates are good until June 1, 2015 and ALL of the funds raised stay with our band program. Thank you Bozard Ford. Forms again are available with Mrs.Zentz or contact Michelle Bedell, michellebedell@gmail.com.
Another continuing fundraiser is our car magnets for $5. They are in Mrs Zentz's office and are available the day you send in your money. Wear your school and band pride on your car!
We will also have one more Firehouse Sub night this year. Put March 25th on your calendars now and treat yourself to a night of no cooking! Show the SPMS Band flyer when you order and we receive a percentage of your order. This can be done at the Firehouse on 210 or on 13, whichever is more convenient for you. Firehouse Sub Flyer
Our last fundraising opportunity right now is Chip In for Youth Tickets for The Players on May 5 - 10, 2015. These tickets are available for $45, cheaper than purchasing them elsewhere, AND we keep $25 of that for our band. Another perk is that they can be used any day of the tournament. You can order them directly by going to www.chipinforyouth.com and entering our code, which is SPMSRAIDERBAND. The deadline to order these tickets is April 24th, 2015.
Thank you for supporting our fantastic Raider Bands!!!
