Messages from Mrs. Kunze

As I am looking at grades of students struggling academically, I am noticing that most of them are not completing homework. Most teachers offer extra help before or after school.  Please encourage your child to complete their homework and seek extra help if needed.

Tips for Home:  There are things you can do at home to help your middle school child be more successful.  Students need to have a special place to do their homework that is free from distractions.  It should have good lighting and adequate supplies nearby.  Once homework is completed, the student should always store it away in a designated place.  That way, it is where it needs to be in order to be easily accessible when it's time to turn it in.  Teachers will not send students from class to their lockers to search for their homework.  Also, before going to bed, students should be in the habit of gathering up their things needed for school the next morning.   Also, before leaving for school, it may help to review with them which day it is (Silver or Black).   Thinking through which classes they will have during the day will help them take ownership of their responsibilities in order to be well prepared for the day.
