We are balancing courses and need some help.  With Florida's class-size amendment, we are not allowed to go over 22 students in a class unless we put an associate teacher in the room, then we can go up to 30 students.  We have seats available in some advanced courses and need students to volunteer to move from standard to advanced.  If we do not get volunteers to move, then we will have no choice but to move students who meet the advanced course criteria to these courses to balance sections.  PLEASE read the appropriate grade level information below regarding what advanced courses are available.

 

 

6th grade Parents PLEASE READ!!!

We currently have 411 6th graders enrolled and are enrolling students daily.  We only have 2 seats remaining in Science 1 standard and are short 3 seats in World History standard.

 

We have 7 seats available in Science 1 Advanced and 11 seats in World History Advanced.  We can't enroll every new student into advanced Science & World unless they meet the criteria.  There are many 6th graders who scored a level 4 or 5 on their FCAT Reading last year who are not taking any advanced courses.  We desperately need some of these students to reconsider taking Advanced Science and/or Advanced World.  ALL Advanced Language Arts sections are FULL.

We currently have 386 7th graders and are enrolling students daily.  We are short 9 seats in Science 2 standard.

 

We have 12 seats available in Science 2 Advanced.  We desperately need some students to reconsider taking Advance Science 2.  All Advanced Language Arts AND Civics sections are FULL.

 

8th grade Parents PLEASE READ!!

We currently have 454 8th graders enrolled and are enrolling students daily.  ALL Advanced sections of Language Arts, Science & US History are FULL.
