WHAT IS THE NORTH FLORIDA WAVE LACROSSE CLUB?
The North Florida Wave Lacrosse club is an elite girls lacrosse travel club based in St. John's County, FL. The club is great opportunity for players in the North Florida Area (St. John's, Duval, Clay & Flagler counties) to take their game to the next level! The club offers both summer and fall travel opportunities for rising 9th-12th grade girls.
WHY PLAY FOR NORTH FLORIDA WAVE LACROSSE CLUB?
FAMILY & TEAM CHEMISTRY: Our goal is to have North Florida Wave players will stay together, practice together, and play together each year with the same coaches. We feel it is extremely important for coaches to build strong relationships with their players throughout their playing career. Our goal is to create an extended lacrosse family within the North Florida area.
NO MORE TRYOUTS: When a player makes or is invited to play on a North Florida Wave High School Elite Travel team, she remains on that team for as long as she would like. There are no more tryouts after the initial one that forms the single graduation year team. Any spot that opens up in the future are filled by invitation.
COMMITMENT TO OUR PLAYERS: The Wave staff is committed to the athletes within the program and thus will never have more than one team per age group. Teams will also never exceed 20 players (6 attack, 6 midfield, 6 defense and 2 goalies) for maximum playing time.
FRIENDSHIPS: Creating friendships that help promote team/family/program spirit and fun while learning the game is an important factor in building success for the Wave.
PERSONAL ATTENTION: It is important to us to teach skills, concepts and tactics in a way that each and every athlete can understand it and incorporate it into their individual game. It is our goal as Wave coaches to give you the personal attention you deserve no matter what high school you play with in the Spring. We are an extended lacrosse family.
FUNDAMENTALS: The North Florida Wave coaching staff prides itself in teaching the fundamentals and growing each individual's skills and lax IQ. Our main goal is not to win games, but to make better lacrosse players.
QUALITY COACHES: The North Florida Wave will have former and current NCAA and College Club players coaching our Travel Elite Teams, all who have demonstrated incredible talent, leadership and dedication to the sport throughout their playing & coaching careers.
ONE FEE: The teams will have up to 3-4 summer tournaments included in the yearly fee. Additional tournaments will be optional with separate fees if players are interested. Each age level team may have different tournaments they attend with a different yearly fee based on the tournaments that team is attending.
BEST RECRUITING TOURNAMENTS: Each year the older teams elite travel teams will attend some of the best recruiting tournaments in the nation including the IWLCA President's Cup, Champions Cup, and Capital Cup. These are the largest recruiting tournaments in the nation that bring in the best competition in the nation while playing in front of more college coaches than any other tournament. The IWLCA tournaments now put all game film on the IWLCA library, allowing IWLCA college coaches to have access to those game films at any time!! The Southern Alliance Tournament, one of the best tournaments held in the south, will also be adapting the a video service, taping and uploading all games to the IWLCA recruiting database website.
