It is hard to believe that school starts in just 5 days! Where has the summer gone? We will host our annual "Get Ready for School" event this Saturday, Aug. 17th. We have made a few changes with locations, so please click on the link below to view the flyer.
We are asking that you try to attend during your assigned time to avoid wait time in long lines. We do understand that there are conflicts and will allow you to pick up materials outside of your assigned time. If you can not attend at all, please send a note with a friend, who can pick up materials for you.
Students that can not attend or do not have anyone willing to pick up stuff on Saturday, will be okay for Monday. ALL students will receive a new copy of their schedule in homeroom on Monday. Planners and lockers will be sold during lunch the first week of school. Textbooks will be distributed Tuesday through Friday the first week during lunch.
Students can bring homeroom supplies in on Saturday to deliver to their homeroom teacher. Other supplies can be placed in their locker.
Get Ready for School flyer
We currently have 1260 students enrolled with 20 more that we are waiting appropriate documentation from before enrolling. Our count on day one will be 1280 or more. This is 100 students more than last year. Due to the increase in enrollment and the return of the 7 period day to middle schools, we have several new faculty members. Please join me in welcoming them to Swiss Point.

Parent Drop-off & Pick-up
Parent drop-off and pick-up are in the FRONT loop. The school was not built with a large loop for parent drop-off. To speed up the drop-off process, we ask that students are ready to exit the vehicle quickly. We also ask that parents pay attention to the adults out front and follow their directions in regards to pulling forward and letting students get out of the vehicle. Students can be dropped off starting at 7:10am where they will sit in the media center until buses are released at 7:30am.
Lunch Assignment
Lunches are assigned by location in the building NOT by grade level. The lunch assignment is based on what teacher a student has Silver 4 or Black 4. Below is a link to the lunch assignments.

Backpack Policy for 13-14
Why a backpack policy?
Our number one priority is safety in our hallways and classrooms. The large backpacks cause problems in crowded hallways and they block the aisles in classrooms. Our enrollment is be around 1280, which will make our hallways tight.
What is the policy?
Large backpacks can be carried to and from school, but MUST be kept in the student's locker during the school day.
Students can only carry small drawstring bags to class - no other small backpacks will be allowed. The PE Department and PTSO will sell drawstring bags for $10, but one can be purchased from somewhere else.
The purpose of the drawstring is to carry small supplies, such as pencils, pens, highlighters, calculators, index cards, markers, etc.
Students should not stuff folders and books into the drawstring bags or the bags will rip. The bags are not made to carry books and folders.
Students will have 5 minutes between classes and at the most will only need to carry books and notebooks for 2 classes at a time.
