Field Trips

The annual end of year field trips went very well this year.  I want to say THANK YOU to the 6th grade parents for being very flexible.  I was called at home when the buses were close to the World Golf exit and told that Hickory Creek was having their 5th grade graduation and there was no room for the charter buses and parents. We quickly decided to change the drop-off location to Bartram Trail HS.  Students called parents and our parents were great!  Again, THANK YOU for being flexible!!

8th Grade Dance

The 8th grade semi-formal last Monday night was a huge success!  The students were extremely well behaved and they had a wonderful time.  THANKS to all of the moms who planned the event!  Everything was perfect from event location, decorations, menu selection, DJ and even the tickets!

Many pictures were taken at the dance.  To see and print these pictures go to www.walgreens.com

Below is a link to a few video clips that Mr. Moseley helped me create.  We know that many of you have questions about standards, high school graduation requirements, EOCs, etc.  There have been so many changes lately in education that it is hard to stay informed.  We hope that you find the clips helpful.

PTSO News

Welcome to PTSO

We would like to welcome rising 6th graders and their parents as well as rising 7th and 8th graders coming from a different school or district. We hope you will get involved with our organization and participate in the many events we have scheduled for next year. See "Welcome Letter" HERE.

Financial Recap

The PTSO had a great year and would like to thank each and every one of you for your contributions. We exceeded our expectations in several areas this past year such as Family Memberships, Box Tops, the Magazine Drive, the Fall Dance, and the recent Carnival. These are successful because of your contributions. The Magazine drive is our largest fundraiser generating $12,101.96 profit.  Box Tops alone generated $1,756.88 profit, so continue to save them over the summer!

In addition to providing $6,000.00 for much needed equipment and supplies to the classrooms, we were able to contribute $2,272.00 to assist with the purchase of interactive clicker systems, $4,594.20 towards furniture for the computer stations, and also $9,999.99 towards the installation and mounting of existing LCD projectors in the classrooms.

It has been a very productive year because of our great parents and business partners who are willing to donate time and money in our children's education.

Thank you and the PTSO looks forward to another outstanding school year next year!

Keeping The Kids Sharp During the Summer
If you are looking for a way to improve your child's skills during the summer you may want to consider utilizing SOAR (Student On-line Achievement Resources). Parents can check on their child's progress and are provided with resource materials.
SOAR is brought to you by the Military Impacted Schools Association (MISA). You can register your child at www.SoarAtHome.org
