8th grade Awards

There have been some questions about attire for the 8th grade awards.  Since the awards are during the school day, the attire needs to be within the dress code.

If you would like to take your child home after the awards, please plan on arriving before 9am with your ID, so you can sign your child out.  If you wait until after the awards, there could be a long wait.

2012-2013 Student Council

Congratulations to the recent winners of our Student Council elections for the coming school year! Zach Kelly is our new President, Emmie Smith our new Vice President, and Amanda Kahn and John Ryan will be 7th grade senators.  These outstanding students will help get the school year off to a great start and continue to help grow the contributions of the SPMS Student Council.

SPMS Summer Reading

This summer you will select your own books for summer reading.  Students going into 6th grade are to read at least 250 pages.  Students going into 7th grade are to read at least 350 pages.  Students going into 8th grade are to read at least 450 pages.  The number of books you read is up to you, as long as you reach the page requirement for your grade level.  Use this form to complete the information for each book you read and have your parent sign beside each book listed.  Put your name on the top right corner of this paper and give it to your language arts teacher the first day of school.  Be prepared to participate in a class activity in which you will discuss your reading and make book recommendations to other students.  Click here to print the form.

Current 6th & 7th graders will be given a form on the last day of school with their report card.

Carnival Wrap-up

A HUGE THANK YOU to all who helped pull off our 2nd annual PTSO school carnival!  It was a roaring success and could simply not have happened without the help of our parent, PTSO, staff & teacher volunteers.  We truly appreciate you taking time from your day to help run games, oversee inflatables and to send in cupcakes!  An extra special thank you to Mr. Wilson for the fabulous "roasted pig" he created for our Hunger Games area, and to Mrs. Kennedy & Mrs. Robbins for dressing up to promote their dunk time - their enthusiasm inspired many to attend.

Enormous thanks to our community sponsors, who donated some wonderful items such as free vitamin water & sunscreen for our students, grand prizes for giveaways and monetary donations to cover some inflatables, pizza & other great additions to our carnival.  Please extend a warm thank you to Dr. Perce Orthodontics, Coggin Nissan on Atlantic, Woodchuck's Fine Furniture, Walgreens on 210, First Florida Credit Union on 210, Leonard's Photography, RPM Automotive, Team Sports Fan, Atlantic Coast Bank, Ocean Potion & Activate water.  We appreciate your generosity!!
