"FORE" The OV Cup -- A Call to Action that Benefits All Grads in Amphi
"Fore!" -- "If you are an experienced golfer, hearing this word should prompt you to take quick action," states Golfsmith.com, "If you are inexperienced, it's important to understand the word and its implications so that you can react accordingly."
The Oro Valley Cup is coming your way! Since 2004 this annual golf tournament has raised needed funds for Project Grad events at all three high schools in Amphitheater. How? People like you, and businesses like the ones you frequent, donate time, money, goods to create a fabulous day filled with a friendly competition, fun raffle prizes, and fantastic silent auction finds.
We have started preparing for the February 6th, 2015 OV Cup and need all the support we can get -- golfers (200), sponsors (as many as we can get), raffle prize/silent auction items donated, goodie bag stuffers (e.g. granola bars, fruit, little giveaways from businesses), and volunteers. Acting together, our caring and generous community can create another safe and sober graduation night.

Correction - Casino Boss needed, incorrectly specified as Casino Pit Boss in our last newsletter. The Casino Boss volunteer role oversees all casino activities during the event night, May 20th. Contact Dan for more info.

OV Police Chief and Others Express Gratitude for PG Support
On Thursday, October 31st, Oro Valley Police Chief Daniel Sharp hosted the 12th annual Project Graduation Business Breakfast at the Hilton El Conquistador Golf and Tennis Resort. The event, which is by invitation only, recognized local businesses that support Project Grad. This year approximately 140 people attended the event. The guest speaker was Bob Lepore, Director of Engineering Management in the College of Engineering at the University of Arizona and retired Vice President of Engineering for Raytheon Missile Systems. Speakers representing IRHS were Jake Fischer (Class of 2009) and Josh Baca (Class of 2016), pictured below. Notable donations presented in support of Project Grad events at all three schools included $10,000 from the Oro Valley Police Department and $2500 from the Oro Valley Optimist Club.

Look for our T-Shirt Logo Contest details in the very near future. This year's contest deadline is much earlier than in previous years. This makes it possible to distribute the t-shirts earlier.
