Vegas Revue Helps Put Project Grad on Seniors To-Do List

On October 6th, a cast and crew of about 25 IRHS Seniors put their spin on classic Vegas entertainment. Click HERE to view a very rough home video of this lively Senior Assembly production. Next month we'll have the professional videographer's polished video. Many in the seniors-only audience were overheard wishing that they were up on stage!

Generating excitement, the annual Senior Assembly introduces Project Grad to soon-to-be grads and motivates them to attend our event in May. We believe getting Seniors involved in event-related activities throughout the year is a big reason why more than 90% of IRHS graduates have attended Project Grad's safe and sober graduation celebration since 2004.

We wondered ...  do Seniors want the traditionally distributed Project Grad T-shirt? So, at the Senior Assembly we asked them what they preferred -- T-shirt, cup/mug (another souvenir) or more prizes at the event. T-shirts won! So, stay tuned for the upcoming Senior T-shirt design contest.

Entertainment Wish List

The gangly character pictured on the right attended the September 25th Senior Advisory Committee meeting. Principal Burnett also made a surprise appearance, joining 60 students -- the majority being first-time participants in SAC.  Ticket sales were promoted, the Senior Assembly found a few new recruits, and event entertainment ideas were discussed. We learned the Senior's wish list includes a giant hamster ball, carnival games, jousting, sumo wrestling, hot tub, wacky bicycle/car race, theater, pie throwing, and, among other ideas, a dunk tank. But, except for an awesome casino, we haven't yet determined what, in fact, will be part of the Vegas, Baby! event.

If you'd like to help make some of these activities happen for our grads, contact Entertainment Chair Dan Fapp.(797-3665). We are also in need of a Casino Pit Boss to oversee the casino -- a willingness to work the entire night of the event is all that is required; knowledge of casino games is desired but not required (we can train).
