Apply Today: Deadline for Essential Community Provider Applications is Oct. 15

Does your hospital serve a large percentage of low-income, medically underserved patients? If so, we encourage you to submit an application to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) to add your facility to the Essential Community Provider (ECP) list for the 2018 health insurance marketplaces. Act fast! Applications are due Saturday, Oct. 15.
 
Eligible hospitals include:
  • 340B drug pricing program participants
  • Critical access hospitals
  • Rural referral centers
  • Disproportionate share hospitals and DSH-eligible hospitals
  • Children's hospitals
  • Sole community hospitals
  • Free-standing cancer centers
Qualified health plans are required to contract with a minimum percentage of ECPs in their communities. Hospitals that submit applications after the deadline will be considered for the following benefit year.
