Savasana Station Yoga Studio
Savasana Station
noun
1. Smart. Clear. Urban. Yoga. 2. Your locally grown yoga studio in the east village supported by Indiegogo crowdfunding. Kim Stetz, yoga teacher and founder, a resident of the east village for eight years, used her own money at lease signing. Savasana Station is without company debt or financial backing. 3. Savasana Station, a seed thought (bija) for nine years, has made its way into the world with a lot of love and compassion training and Kim wants to share this with as many people as possible. 4. Savasana Station will offer mindful movement yoga classes (slow flow vinyasa), "Daily Sit" open meditation, relaxation meditation therapy through Yoga Nidra (the impetus behind Savasana Station), spring and fall group whole foods health coaching with contemplative practice (10 Day Mind/Body/Spirit Whole Foods Program), networking for volunteer work (seva) ... this is just the beginning. 5. Offers opportunities for yoga teachers to teach from their hearts. 6. Offers students an opportunity to learn in a relaxed, mindful, compassionate environment. 7. Deep gratitude to mentors, teachers, students, friends, and family! 8. Om Namah Shivaya
Spring is almost here and what better way to celebrate the birth of my first yoga studio than with the changing of seasons! While we ogle the cherry blossom trees and start to take some of the layers off, please consider how you might be able to support me in this new adventure. The direct ask is for your support. I will be launching an Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign in March seeking to raise $60,000 to get Savasana Station up and running. I am pre-selling memberships and classes as well as taking donations. Right now I am teaching full time and starting this business as well as keeping up with volunteer work, daily practice, study, oh, and almost forgot, my crazy-fun time taking improv comedy classes at UCB (I have seva plans of what I'm doing with that training). A dear friend of mine whom I met on a meditation retreat has been championing me for a few years surprised me with this letter below and a check for $600 upon finding out about my monetary goal before I'd even set up the Indiegogo campaign. I can't tell you how much this touched me deeply and this money is needed for me to continue on. I am more encouraged each day that this is the time for Savasana Station to come to fruition. This letter inspired me to have a have the "1%" donation box in the campaign. If 100 people match "Michael's" contribution by donating 1%, my goal will be met. This is just one way of reaching my goal and making the transition from being a mostly traveling yoga teacher to having a studio one block away from where I live. I do plan to continue to teach privates, but by having a studio my income is less dependent on a smaller group of people (their health and schedules) as well as my health and schedule. There will be options on the Indiegogo page to purchase memberships and classes at a discounted rate before doors open as well as the choice to donate unspecified amounts. I've signed a five year lease and am so excited to open the doors in April and start this new adventure. Feel free to write to me with any questions or concerns. My email address Kim@Savasanastation.com or you can just hit reply to this newsletter. If you would like my snail mail address, please send an email and ask.
Please help with the success of this yoga studio. Savasana Station will be open 7 days a week working up to offering at least 35 classes a week. Classes and scheduling to be announced. Late classes were requested and so you shall receive! Citibike station located right on the block. Savasana Station is your yoga rest stop. Stay tuned for Savasana Station website with complete details to be up soon and Indiegogo funding to begin!
