Spring is finally here and brings with it longer days, less shoveling (hopefully), and some great opportunities to get out in the community.  We strive to give back through charitable donations, volunteering, sponsorships and hosting great events like blood drives and community dinners.    

We look forward to another successful year of working with you, and helping to secure the right coverage for your business and family.  As your Independent Agent, we are not captive to any one insurance company and can therefore provide you with a number of choices.  We are also your friends, neighbors and fellow community volunteers.

Be Prepared with Flood Insurance

Melting snow and warmer temperatures bring ... well, the potential for flooding in your home or building. By now, you likely know that your homeowners or renters policy does not cover flooding.  We can help you with that.

Floods are the #1 natural disaster in the U.S. and the average flood insurance claim in recent years is $35,000.  It's not just folks in low-lying areas in the vicinity of water who have to worry.  With storms
 growing heavier around the world,
 the incidence of flash flooding has also grown.  

To protect yourself from flooding, you need flood insurance in addition to your homeowners or renters policy.  Many people have sought relief after a flood from their insurance carrier, only to find themselves left high and dry, even as their homes were buried under water.

Many people don't know this, but your homeowner's insurance will actually cover your personal property anywhere you go. That means that if your things are stolen from your car, or even from your hotel room in Florida, you can make a claim against your policy to recover the damage.  You will, of course, have to pay the deductible, so the amount of the stolen goods will need to be enough to make the claim worthwhile.  

Your homeowner's insurance covers more than your house-it covers the things that make it your home.  Be sure you keep good records of your belongings, take out additional coverage (for expensive items) when needed, and ensure you have the right amount of coverage on your policy.
