Our April First Friday Forum at Lulu's, sponsored by Island Air Conditioning & Heating, featured an extremely motivational presentation "Earning the Right to Lead," presented by Chamber Board Member David Clark, who is General Manager of The Beach Club for Spectrum Resorts.   David discussed the importance of how we treat team members within our organizations and how that relates to quality customer service.  David is shown above with Chamber Chairman Vince Lucido.  Below, the team from Island Air Conditioning  & Heating.

PRESENTED TO ASHLEE COGGINS
OF ZAXBY'S IN GULF SHORES

 

GULF SHORES, AL -  The Coastal Alabama Business Chamber recently presented its Island Spirit Award for April 2015 to Ashlee Coggins at a special ceremony at Zaxby's in Gulf Shores

 

In presenting the award, Chamber Director of Special Events, Ann vonEberstein, cited Coggins' extraordinary attention to customer service to customers.  "One nomination stated 'I can honestly say I have never met someone so cheerful. She loves her job and loves helping other and it shows in the way she treats others. We need more people like her in our community.'"


 

The Island Spirit Award is presented monthly by the Coastal Alabama Business Chamber. It has been a tradition since the mid-1980's. The award was designed to give special recognition to individuals who make special contributions to the quality of life we enjoy in the Coastal Alabama region. Nora Mandoki chairs the Island Spirit Committee. Anyone can nominate a special individual for this honor. Nominations can be made online by visiting the Chamber's website at www.mygulfcoastchamber.com.

CHAMBER MEMBERSHIP RENEWALS COMING UP!
  

Chamber membership dues will soon be coming up for renewal for all members.   


 

While online payment of dues began a couple of years ago, THIS year our membership invoices will also be sent electronically.


 

Earlier this year, ALL members were contacted regarding their invoice preferences.  Only those who specifically have requested a paper invoice will receive one through the postal mail.  All members with e-mail addresses on file will receive an electronic invoice.


 

Remember, membership dues must be renewed in order to keep your membership current.  Only CURRENT members appear on the Chamber website, in our Gulf2Go app, and other listing.   Only CURRENT members are eligible to receive membership benefits.  And only CURRENT members receive free admission to our monthly First Friday Forum breakfast events.

UNIVERSITY OF SOUTH ALABAMA NOW OFFERING B.S. IN HOSPITALITY AND TOURISM MANAGEMENT 
 

The University of South Alabama's Mobile campus now offers a Bachelor of Science Degree in Hospitality and Tourism Management, both face-to-face on campus and on-line. USA's new Gulf Coast Campus, located at 19470 Oak Road West, Building D (behind Gulf Shores Cultural Center on CR 6) offers a variety of short-term programs and services for Baldwin County businesses and residents.  Gulf Coast campus programs include conference services, business and industry training, an Event Management certificate program, and the USA Gulf Coast Distinguished Lecture Series.


Baldwin County residents can earn a Bachelor of Science Degree in Hospitality and Tourism Management through USA's School of Continuing Education and Special Programs.


Residents can now earn a college degree from an affordable, and accredited university just a short distance from home.


USA has also established an agreement with Faulkner State Community College to provide a seamless transfer of credits from Faulkner State graduates (earning an Associate in Applied Science degree in Hosptiality Management) to USA's Hospitalty and Tourism Management program.
