Congratulations to the Alabama Gulf Coast Reef & Restoration Foundation on successfully completing its first project, the acquisition and sinking of The Lulu as Alabama's first full diving reef ship.  The Foundation was formed last year by the Alabama Gulf Coast Area Chamber of Commerce
with a mission of developing a reef system for the enhancement of the diving and fishing industries and the preservation of marine wildlife along the Alabama Gulf Coast.  Chamber Vice Chairman, Vince Lucido, has served as President of the Foundation since its inception.  Here are some great links where you can learn more about this project:

FESTIVE CROWD ATTENDS RE-CHRISTENING FOR THE LULU

DSC_0023
What's the perfect way to re-christen a 272 foot former cargo ship to ready it for it's new life as a diving and fishing reef?  Certainly not with an un-environmentally-friendly glass bottle, but rather, with a juicy tropical beverage called The Scuba Lu!  For more photos of this and other events, please visit the Chamber's Flickr PhotoStream by clicking on the photo above.

CHAMBER MEMBER ACCESSORIES GALORE
