Six things you may not know about CHS:

World's only graduate program grounded in Pagan and earth-based spirituality.

Has been preparing community leaders for service since the early '90s.

Faculty members are tops in their fields from all over the world.

Has no debt.

Students in several countries are a fascinating bunch--an environmental preservationist, noted musician, career journalist, prison chaplain intern, hospital chaplain intern, artist, social worker, community activist-organizer, members of the Armed Forces and veterans, entrepreneurs, and more.

Tuition alone does not keep the lights on at CHS.

That last one is a call to action!

Even with a full complement of skilled, dedicated volunteers, there are some hard costs to providing the quality found at CHS. Like most, CHS students have also had to cut back during the recession of recent years, shrinking our revenues at just the time new and better programs have come out.

Please consider helping us end the year on a bright note.  Every contribution helps, no matter the size.  Best of all, when we reach goal, we'll be able to award some semester scholarships in January.

Thank you for believing in the power of education to transform lives and strengthen communities - thank you for giving to the fall scholarship drive

Carol Kirk speaking at the
Women's Vietnam Memorial

CHS student Carol Kirk (Lark) spoke at the Women's Vietnam Memorial in Washington, DC on Veterans Day. This year marked the 20th anniversary of the dedication of the Women's Vietnam Memorial.

In her posts to the CHS Facebook Page, Carol noted that she "served as an Army nurse in a MASH unit in Vietnam from May 1969 to December 1970.  It is one of the reasons that led me to Wicca."

Reflecting on speaking at the Memorial, Carol shared, "I had been chosen as one of those to tell the story of their experiences in

Operating room, 45th Surg Hospital, Tay Ninh RVN 1970
Vietnam.  It was both a painful and a very healing experience to be able to at last speak of what I had gone through and to not be judged for what I had to do."

In addition to speaking at the Memorial, while in DC, Carol also contributed to StoryCorps, the national oral history project, and participated in a candlelight

ceremony honoring the women veterans who died in Vietnam or afterwards.

CHS offers thanks and gratitude to Carol Kirk and all veterans for their service and sacrifice

Our CHS Family in the News

CHS Executive Director Holli Emore appeared on AIB Metro, a news show on the cable station Atlanta Interfaith Broadcasters. Holli participated in a segment on food and faith, sharing her family recipe for Pumpkin (or Persimmon) Pudding and also discussing harvest traditions and Pagan participation in interfaith work.  Read more at The Wild Hunt.

(Holli says that she thought she escaped from the kitchen years ago, but she'll do anything for the cause of Cherry Hill Seminary, even cook.)

Support Relief Efforts in the Philippines

On November 8, Typhoon Haiyan devastated the Philippine islands.  The Cherry Hill Seminary community holds all of those affected by Typhoon Haiyan in our thoughts and hearts.

If you are looking for ways to support those who are working to heal and rebuild, we encourage you to consider donating to relief organizations. Following are just some of the many organizations dedicated to helping those who are recovering from this and other catastrophic emergencies in their communities.
