Club News ~ from Robin

Change is in the Air (or on the Ceiling)

We've been gearing up for some pretty big changes here at the Club and they are about to begin!
I think this quote about sums it up...

We are definitely shooting for gorgeous ...and I appreciate your patience with the hard and messy parts!  I also want to remind you that change is good for your brain! When you need to adapt to new circumstances, your brain gets to work at creating new neural pathways and connections and THAT helps our brains stay young.

Doug and I feel very strongly about bringing you a top notch experience every visit you make and so we are making significant investment in the Club.  We want you to be as proud of your club as we are of you. I want to thank everyone who responded to our surveys and talked with me in person to share ideas on how we could do things better. Many of your ideas have been integrated into our remodel plans.

Here we go...we anticipate completion by the beginning of November.  Remember, we are closed for Club Scrub this weekend (Aug 6 & 7) and will reopen at our regular time on Monday, August 8th, all shiny, clean, and with new court lights!  Tennis court booking IS available, online only, while we are closed.

Staff Spotlight:  Thierry Takes on France

One look at a photograph from our August Staff  Spotlight's latest adventure will have you researching an event or race to include in your next vacation plans.  Meet Thierry Werderits, our very own BTC/FF cycling and TRX instructor who recently returned from Chamonix, France where he competed in the infamous 23K (15 mile) Marathon du Mont Blanc. The name and distance of this prestigious event would first lead one to believe that Thierry is a dedicated runner who runs all year round for these type of races. While Thierry is indeed a dedicated athlete, you might be surprised to find out just how well-rounded Thierry's approach to fitness, training and life (beer included), may be.

While the Marathon du Mont Blanc was a grueling trail run including 5,000 feet of climbing, the scenery made it all worth it. The course weaved through picturesque farm towns and around French cafes with thousands of fans cheering on the runners.
