One Year Ends and Another Begins
2013 was a great year for stocks/equities in general, and pretty bad for bonds. If only we could rewind the year and go 100% in stocks.
But would that be wise? Sure, in hindsight and only since we know how it turns out. But investing doesn't work that way. We work in the unknown, crafting a disciplined investment strategy that helps a person reach their goals.
I have a full 2013 recap and 2014 thoughts in my video, so I highly recommend you watch it.

I will soon be changing my Investment Advisory Representative (IAR) affiliation from my own state Registered Investment Advisory Firm to a SEC Registered Investment Advisory firm (Cambridge Investment Research Advisors, Inc.). I will continue to use Generosity Wealth Management as my "doing business as", with the same logo, email address, phone number, etc. Besides my disclosures changing, it will be mostly transparent to existing clients. Fees, management, investments, account numbers, etc. are all the same. I am doing this to simplify my business, and with additional regulatory requirements and costs, the economies of scale simply aren't there for firms of my size. Therefore, my purpose is to outsource these requirements and compliance to Cambridge. In the meantime, the links below are the last time I'll offer my Form ADV and privacy notices under my state registered advisory firm. What is an ADV you ask? It's a form and brochure that describes what Generosity Wealth Management is, who I am, and how we do business. If you would like a copy, please click on the link below. For your reading pleasure, I also have included links to my privacy notices. How exciting is all that?
10 States with the Scariest Death Taxes
"Nothing can be said to be certain, except death and taxes" - Benjamin Franklin Just because they're inevitable, doesn't mean you shouldn't live a healthy life for longevity, and position yourself to pay the least amount in taxes. At least the final estate or death taxes. The link below has the 10 worst states to die in, at least from a tax point of view. Colorado -- not on the list.
Planning for Future Healthcare Costs
With all the discussion around Obamacare, I thought I'd include a whitepaper on planning for future healthcare.
It's pretty tricky--I'm not going to lie.
I have a great program that extrapolates out into the future estimates for specific healths, age, lifestyle, tax brackets, etc. I have to admit it's pretty cool.
If you'd like me to do one for you (complimentary of course), let me know.
In the meantime, here's the whitepaper

IBM Hard Drive being Loaded into a Plane - 1956
I thought you might like the below picture from 1956. It's a 5 megabyte (MB) drive weighing 2,000 lbs. To put that in perspective, the very lowest end iPhone 5S has a 16 gigabyte (GB) drive, about 3,200 times bigger, while weighing 0.25 lbs. The below hard drive could hold exactly 1 iPhone picture today. It was available for rent at $3,200 per month. We've come a long way........
