I love positive stunning moments. You know what those are: unexpected instances when a cold bucket of water splashes against your heart bringing a profoundly deep and fresh thought to the forefront of your mind. I had one of those Friday night at the Arise Ministries pre-holiday "Jingle Jangle" event. With almost 1,000 single moms and over 700 children registered, we were prepared for a life-changing night!
I've had the opportunity to be with a number of famous Christian speakers and singers behind the stage in the 'Green Room' before an event, but NEVER have I been in the presence of a woman of faith more humble or genuinely accompanied by God's Holy Spirit than Wanda Pratt. While interviewing her about holiday memories as a single mother with Kevin and Anthony, I wondered if the audience could see the tears running down her cheeks as she expressed the magnitude of God's love for each mom and their worthiness of His affection.
Normally after an event, speakers are taken immediately backstage so they won't get caught in the crowd. It's a courteous gesture of the hostess to protect their time. Once in the 'Green Room' I commented, "Wanda, thank you so much for your words of wisdom and love for our moms. " And with a GRACIOUS thank you on her part and a sincere expression of how much the event meant to her personally, she dropped 'the stunning moment': "Now if it's ok with you, do you mind if I go back out there and visit with the moms?" I loved it! I loved it!
Friends, it's Thanksgiving this week. What a perfect opportunity to drop a few stunning moments yourself. Thanksgiving 2012 will come and go, but the stunning moments you leave behind will last a lifetime.
Hugs,
Pam
