Meatless Mondays in March..MMM!
Monday's, March 10, 17, 24, 31
|
Will you join us and go meatless on Mondays in March: March 3, 10, 17, 24, and 31?
Why Meatless Mondays in March?
Most people recycle because they know it is good for the environment. But most people don't know that eating less meat is much more earth-friendly than recycling. Going meatless just one day a week makes a big difference because meat production is both a water- and fossil fuel-intense operation and a major contributor to greenhouse gases - even if it is done organically and locally.
MMM! is not about going vegan (though we have nothing against vegans).
MMM! is about doing something easy that makes a real difference for the environment.
In the past few years many restaurants in the South Loop have participated in the "MMM in the South Loop" initiative. These restaurants all have wonderful meatless meals, why not try them out?
The Alliance is partnering with Greater South Loop Association (GSLA) to feature MMM! restaurants on specific Mondays in March, as a way to have fun going meatless together with friends and neighbors, and to help support those businesses. Hope to see you there, then!*
- March 10, at Artist's Cafe, 1150 S. Wabash: Get $1 off the Hummus Veggie Wrap...mmm!
- March 31: Veggie Chili Cook-Off!
* MMM! restaurants' special prices are good all day, every Monday in March.
** STAY TUNED! Dates featuring other MMM! restaurants are in the works!
