Dentologie is unlike any dental practice out there. We are reconstructing the entire dental experience focused on your needs. We started by asking members of our neighborhood what they want to see in a dental office and the problems they have encountered in the past. Our solution: creating a practice that is not only beautiful but also personal, accessible, and affordable.

Christmas Tree Recycling
Location:  23 Locations Citywide (South Loop, 900 S. Columbus)
Saturday January 4th through January 18th

How will you recycle your Christmas tree in the South Loop? We know of two ways:
  1. The City's program at Grant Park, 900 S. Columbus Drive. Drop off your live Christmas tree(s) (with ornaments, lights, tinsel and stands removed) between Saturday, January 4 and Saturday, January 18. Forestry crews from the Department of Streets and Sanitation will chip the trees into free mulch for residents. Limited amounts of the mulch will be available at each location for pick up beginning on January 10.
  2. Your Condo building can hire Do The Right Thing Recycling service to come and collect Christmas trees. Don't worry that the site refers to a North Side service. Owner/operator Al tells us they will come to the South Loop. Visit the website to fill out a form to schedule a pick up.

Community Policing in Chicago

Beginning in 1993, the Chicago Police Department has been committed to implementing a comprehensive community policing strategy - CAPS - that is designed to make residents an active partner in preventing and reducing crime in all of Chicago's neighborhoods. That strategy recognizes that police, residents and other neighborhood stakeholders, and other City agencies have to work together to address all the conditions that can lead to crime. No one stands alone; each of us has a role to play in improving the quality of life in our communities.

There are several critical elements to the City's community policing strategy:
  • That police, residents and other City agencies working together can prevent crime and improve the quality of life in all of Chicago's neighborhoods;
  • That positive working relationships need to be established between local police and residents; and
  • That law enforcement, community-based, and City service strategies need to be developed and implemented in order to prevent and reduce crime.
