The South Loop's street festival marks its tenth year by celebrating the cultural diversity of Chicago's fastest growing community.  THE BASH ON WABASH  "Sweet Corn Chicago", located in the heart of the South Loop on Wabash Avenue between 13th Street and 14th Place. THE BASH ON WABASH promises to be an unforgettable experience.

Chicago City Vehicle Sticker Ward Sales begin

 

City Clerk Susana Mendoza is proud to partner with each Alderman to host a dedicated Chicago City Vehicle Sticker Sales Day in her or her ward. You can buy your Chicago City Vehicle Stickers (P, LP, S, Truck)  and Antique or Motorcycle tags at the sale. You also can purchase Annual Residential Parking and Daily Residential Guest Permits at these sales. If you own a pickup truck or van, your Alderman may also have the free truck permit available at the sale.

You must bring your renewal form to purchase a Chicago City Vehicle Sticker. If you don't have your renewal form, you will need to provide one of the following approved forms of VIN documentation: State Vehicle Registration Card, Insurance Card (displaying VIN), or Vehicle Title.

June 9, 2013 from 2:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M.

The Chicago Symphony Orchestra hosts a FREE and festive gathering at Ping Tom Memorial Park in Chinatown. This musical celebration of the Chicago River begins at 2:00 with free family activities hosted by the Chicago Park District, followed by performances by Corky Siegel and Eddy "The Chief" Clearwater, The Civic Orchestra of Chicago Brass, Chinese Lion Dancers and Mucca Pazza. You can even join an all-instrument drum circle! The highlight of the afternoon will be appearances by the CSO Brass, and CSO Music Director Riccardo Muti leading the Chicago Children's Choir in a performance of Verdi's Va, pensiero.

Parking is limited and the CTA's Red Line will be under construction. Consider taking a water taxi! Chicago Water Taxi will be running that day, arriving at Ping Tom Park every 15 minutes.

Divvy Bike Sharing Stations
South Loop locations announced
Bike sharing is an innovative new transportation system you can use without having to own your own bike. The Divvy fleet is made up of specially designed, heavy-duty, very durable bikes that found in a network of docking stations all over the City of Chicago. They are transit systems which allow users to control their own travel and is intended to be used for short, quick trips - typically less than 2 miles.
To ride, users can purchase short-term passes (24-Hour) or an Annual Membership to use the system. 24-Hour Passes may be purchased from any station kiosk using a credit or debit card. Annual
  
Members enroll online and receive a personal key used to quickly unlock bikes from any station.
  
Bikes can be returned to any station anywhere in the system, creating an efficient network with many possible connection points and combinations of departures and arrivals.

The 2012 animated film, directed by Genndy Tartakovsky and starring Adam Sandler, Andy Samberg and Selena Gomez, is about Dracula operating a high-end resort and dealing with a guest falling for his teenage daughter. The movie begins at dusk.
