VOLUNTEERS HEART AND SOUL OF COMMUNITY INVESTMENTS
 


 


A corps of 175 highly trained volunteers recently concluded more than 4,000 hours of service to recommend levels of investments in the Tulsa Area United Way's 61 partner agencies.

 

"Community Investments volunteers are dedicated men and women who give up their valuable time to participate in this process and I personally want to thank each one of them," said John Hickey, Community Investments Cabinet Chair.

CAMPAIGN TO KICK OFF AT LIVE UNITED
CROSSTOWN SHOWDOWN SEPT 5
 


 


The Tulsa Area United Way will officially kick off and announce the goal of its annual campaign for the community at the Live United Crosstown Showdown - the legendary Broken Arrow-Owasso High School football rivalry - on Friday, Sept. 5.  


"Football and the United Way campaign are two of our community's most beloved fall traditions," said Mark Graham, president and CEO of the Tulsa Area United Way. "We are thrilled to partner with these high schools and communities to kick off our campaign."

COMMUNITY COLLABORATION PROJECTS RECEIVE SPECIAL FUNDING
 



Projects to end homelessness, prevent teen pregnancy and elevate student achievement recently received special community collaboration funding from the Tulsa Area United Way.

The Board of Directors approved a total of $370,000 for the programs, which include A Way Home for Tulsa, the Tulsa Campaign to Prevent Teen Pregnancy and Impact! Tulsa.

FROM REBELLION TO
RESPONSIBILITY: JESUS' STORY




Jesus J. is a man of few words, but he could admit he was in trouble and needed help. That help came in the form of Tulsa Boys' Home.

Before coming to the Boys' Home, Jesus was rebellious. "Being intoxicated drove everything, it was my main focus. I was running in the streets." Before long he got into trouble, which led him to the Tulsa Boys' Home and a new life.
