LIVE UNITED AWARDS CELEBRATE TOP CAMPAIGNS

A celebration of the largest campaign in its history, recognition of top company and organizational supporters and a special honor for community leader Mary Ann Hille highlighted the annual Live United luncheon and awards ceremony recently hosted by the Tulsa Area United Way.
Nearly 900 guests representing the corporate, philanthropic and nonprofit communities attended the event held at the Cox Business Center and sponsored by Cancer Treatment Centers of America.

UNITED WAY NOW OFFERING FREE TAX PREPARATION

A coalition of community organizations led by the Tulsa Area United Way is offering free tax preparation assistance to those who qualify.
Trained volunteers are providing tax assistance at several locations across the region.
Those who would like to prepare their own tax returns may utilize a free instructional tool provided by the federal government. Click the link below to find out more.

| NEW PROGRAM PREPARES NEXT GENERATION OF NON-PROFIT LEADERS

A leadership education program designed to prepare the next generation of non-profit and community leaders has been launched by the Tulsa Area United Way.
The program, titled "neXtulsa", was developed in response to an anticipated leadership vacuum in the non-profit sector in the coming years, said Sharon Gallagher, director of community collaborations at the Tulsa Area United Way.

| HOPE IN A DIFFICULT SITUATION: CLAUDETTE'S STORY

Claudette Akers went through a nightmare, not once, but twice.
In 2010, after back surgery and a debilitating car accident, Claudette's house caught on fire. Her disabled husband was inside at the time. They were both able to escape unharmed, but the couple lost everything.
That's when Claudette's "angels" showed up - The American Red Cross.
