More than 200 women gathered for the WLC Annual Summit at the Tulsa Convention Center in February to learn more about education and the crucial role it plays in a thriving community. Also during the Summit, Dr. Nancy Feldman was honored as the second recipient of the Clydella Hentschel Women in Leadership Award.

PARTNER AGENCIES SUPPORT CAMPAIGN AT RECORD LEVEL |

The Tulsa Area United Way ranks first among its peers nationally in giving by nonprofit organizations, thanks to the generosity of its partner organizations.
Partner agencies raised a total of $850,970 for the United Way in 2012 - the most ever during a single campaign.
"Now that's really putting your money where your heart is," said Chet Cadieux, Chair of the 2012 Campaign.

HILTI DONATES HP NOTEBOOKS FOR LOCAL TULSA AGENCIES |

Hilti Corporation, a worldwide supplier of construction tools, recently donated 900 computers to the Tulsa Area United Way's partner agencies.
"This donation was a rare thing," said Gary Szabo, Vice President of Information Technology and Infrastructure at United Way. "The computers did not require troubleshooting because Hilti had done all of the preparation work."
With the dawn of a new year, every agency that made a request received a notebook.
"Thanks to Hilti Corporation, our partner agencies can look forward to a more productive 2013," Szabo said.

As a high school senior, Mike Brose was forced to find his own housing following the death of his parents.
He never expected to become one of the nation's leading experts on providing housing for those suffering from mental health challenges or homelessness.
Mike became Executive Director of the Mental Health Association of Tulsa almost 20 years ago, when much of the public failed to grasp mental health issues.
