"Vision without execution is hallucination." - Thomas Edison
Dear C12 Members & Friends,
There are more than 50+ companies participating in the C12 Group's advisory boards around South-Central Texas. These companies are quite diverse, ranging from small law firms and engineering groups to large software, manufacturing and entertainment businesses. However, they all share one thing in common: the constant leadership challenge of fiercely preserving strategic clarity and consistent execution to "the plan."
This winter, one large C12 member organization Haven for Hope* ($15M operation) took a facilitated dive into the "6 Questions" author, Patrick Lencioni outlines in his latest work The Advantage as part of a strategic planning journey.
We spent time refining the vision for our core ideals and focused on ways to unify the foundation of the management team, operations and corporate culture. This was done through a number of exercises and involved calling out what their core values are (what Lencioni refers to as "core behaviors") in a crisp, compelling and defining framework (see below) as a key part of their "strategy playbook." Have you worked through these fundamentals of purpose, strategy and direction? Do you have arbiter statements of both purpose and culture that attract talent, refine focus and repel threats to your organization?
This month, during our C12 Group Board Meetings, we will be talking about the ongoing work subsequent to strategic planning: metrics, execution, monitoring, course correction and accountable implementation.
How well and how often do you and your team strategize and plan? Now is the best time to focus on a plan that all understand, contribute to and support. Let's get started!
C12 Group has positively benefited businesses just like yours throughout Central Texas. Let us know if you would like to explore how the C12 Group can benefit you and your company. We look forward to hearing from you! Blessings,
C12 Austin/San Antonio/Hill Country Leadership

DEVOTION
Which Race? (Hebrews 12:1 & 2Timothy 4:7)
Which race are you running? Is it the one which involves striving breathlessly each day, with your "hair on fire", to accumulate material possessions, reserves, and toys? Or is it the one where your life is ordered according to God's priorities and you're actively storing up treasures in Heaven? Let's find out!
Working 'on' my BUSINESS
What Happened?!?
Why are so many of us content to be reactive, 'rope-a-dope' leaders, hoping simply to survive daily problems without a plan to truly move the business forward? Few CEOs do a solid job of engaging their team in strategic planning, and even fewer actually follow-through to implement these plans. We can do better by leading our team to both plan and execute!
Working 'on' my MINISTRY in God's Business
What Happened?!? - Revisited
Over the past two decades, C12 members who have been intentional in applying planning and execution disciplines to the ministry dimension have seen great fruit! So why do we so often relegate the part of our business performance that our Lord holds to be most important to an afterthought?
