Tough Numbers? Just Wait, It Gets Worse...
The Water Institute at the University of North Carolina is questioning the UN definitions behind commonly accepted statistics on water and sanitation. Reporting online by Circle of Blue, UNC estimates 1.8 billion people drink unsafe water, and 4.1 billion, (6 out of every 10), do not use facilities that ultimately treat sewage before releasing it into the environment. RC Handwashing Campaign in the Dominican Republic

PPP Team to India Featured
Rotary.org recently posted an article about the Wasrag PPP team trip to northeastern India headed up by PDG Arvind Phukan. The team of hydrologists, engineers, geologists, and other experts traveled to the Thane district of northwest India in October to help local Rotarians and their international partners design a global grant project to bring clean water and sanitation to more than 1,800 villagers. Ending Water Worries...
The Rotarians of RC of Vinukonda Central, District 3150, along with RC of Tallahassee, District 6940, USA, and TRF have brought an end to the water worries in various hamlets of Andhra Pradesh.
