 Talent Show
CALLING ALL 5th GRADERS! Would you like to perform the 5th grade song in the talent show? (You will still be able to do your own act in the show). If you'd like to be part of this act you MUST come to the auditorium to learn the song TODAY, January 23 from 4:30-5:00 pm. We will also have a rehearsal on Wed. February 13 from 4:30-5:00 pm. Please plan on waiting outside the auditorium with parental supervision until you are called in for the practice as talent show auditions will be taking place until 4:30.
TODAY IS AUDITION DAY #2, 2:15 - 4:30:
Our audition slots are filled, but we will do our best to work you in between the designated appointments on a first-come, first served basis. Please be patient and understanding -- we are doing the best we can to juggle everyone's needs.

Math Club Starts Wed. Jan. 30th
Is Your 3rd, 4th or 5th Grader Ready for a Real Math Challenge?
The LJES Khan Academy Math Club starts Wednesday, January 30th, at 8:00 am

Introduction to Robotics
For 3rd - 5th Graders
Session 1 Starts Monday, Feb. 4th
S -Science, T -Technology, E -Engineering, M -Math
 This innovative, after-school
5 week program will introduce the STEM-minded student to the world of robotics using Lego Mindstorms NTX. and a sign up sheet. Class is limited to 14 Grade 3-5 students. Cost is $75 for the 5-week session.
The first session starts on Monday, February 4, 2013 at 4:00 till 5:00 pm in Room 7
and includes the following five Mondays:
2/04, 2/11, 2/25, 3/04 and 3/11

Last year, we raised over $17,000 during our Spell-a-thon-online with just 30% of our student body soliciting donations from relatives and friends. Imagine what we can raise with 100% participation! Teachers and students will be focusing on their 50 grade level "essential spelling words" for the next two weeks, then each child will be tested on those words during the week of February 4th during class.
