The Service Learning Leadership Group will be having a bake sale on Thursday, December 6 after school to benefit Highlands Elementary School in Highlands, New Jersey.    

 

The Highlands community was hit hard by Hurricane Sandy. The devastation left 1,200 out of 1,500 homes uninhabitable and many of the Highlands Elementary School students and their families homeless, living in shelters and losing most of their possessions.

 

In November we raised funds for the Red Cross to provide assistance to the entire region and are now holding this event in which our students will help the students at this struggling school, brought to our attention by a LJES parent connected to the Highlands community.

Pick up some yummy treats to enjoy at school or take home while supporting our students as they help Highlands Elementary School.

The LJES Chorus meets at 8am on Tuesday and Thursday mornings in the Art Room with music teacher Ms. Julie Greathouse.  The Chorus will perform at the upcoming Band/Strings Winter Concert and will participate in LJES Winter Caroling.

Walk around the village, singing holiday favorites for stores, shoppers, and a  nursing home. Families and friends welcome. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
