Families Are Invited to Watch the LJES Halloween Parade Today

Because Halloween falls on a 'short day' this year, it is fine for students to wear their costumes to school. Please remember these costume guidelines: - Keep costumes simple, as to not interfere with classroom work.
- Please do not send costume props that are replicas of weapons (swords, knives, guns).Please also avoid gruesome costumes such as very scary masks, swirling blood, etc.
Families are invited to watch the Halloween parade today at 11:30 on the LJES playground. Be sure to allow extra time for parking.

The LJES Book Fair Starts Next Week!
Grand Opening is Next Tuesday, Nov. 6th
Kids LOVE to choose books at the
LJES Book Fair!
Support our library by visiting the fair and purchasing books for your child or your child's classroom, all at reasonable prices. The book fair will be open during these hours:
- Grand Opening Tues, Nov. 6th, 3:30 - 4:15
- Before school (starting Wed. Nov, 7th),
8:30 - 9am - After school from 3:30 - 4:00 on full days and 12:45 - 1:15 half days, including Parent/Teacher Conference days
- During the Family Dance on Nov. 15th
- The book fair closes Fri. Nov. 16th at 9:00 am
Can you spare one or two hours to help out? No experience necessary! Please click here to sign up for a slot (or two).
You can also order books online from Oct. 31st - Nov. 20th. This is a great option for friends or relatives, or if you are not able to make it to the Book Fair. Click here to order.

Please Return Federal Impact Survey Card ASAP
Dear Parents,
A Federal Impact Aid Survey card was sent home with your child early this week. These cards are used to apply for federal funding for our school, and we need one returned for EVERY student. Please complete all of the questions on the card, sign and return to the school no later than Friday, November 9th. (All classes who have 100% returned by Nov 9th will be given an extra recess.) All information will be kept confidential.

Parent Teacher Conferences Start Next Friday, Nov. 9th
Conference days are Friday Nov. 9th
and Tues. Nov. 13th - Fri. 16th.
Due to Veteran's Day holiday on Monday, Nov. 12th, Parent Teacher Conferences will be held Friday, Nov. 9th, and Tues Nov. 13th - Fri. Nov. 16th. Dismissal time on all conference days is 12:45. Please note these conference day reminders:- All conference days are Minimum Days -- dismissal time is 12:45
- No Knowledge College all week
- No After School Science on Tuesday
- No Wednesday After School Classes
